[QUOTE=Shadaez;32392072]you want a nice soundcard, but then you look at headphones with bloated muddy bass? You want CMSS which tells me you want a very large soundstage, which I can't imagine these having (or being good at anything other than listening to music).
ATH-A900 have amazing soundstage and are closed, and you could get a nice DAC for a source. Personally, I don't like CMSS or Dolby Headphone, if you want a different sound, get it from the hardware as closely as possible, no need to modify the sound.[/QUOTE]
XB700's and 1000's are great headphones, they're very widely known to be the best/most fun headphones for electronic music on head-fi, the 500's and 700's are amazing headphones for being under $100 and the 1000's are just overall amazing
But to be fair for gaming the 500's have very mediocre soundstage but the 700's are pretty decent, the 1000's have amazing soundstage though.
Oh, and they're hands down in the top 3 for most comfortable headphone ever worn, they can get a tiny bit hot on a hot day though.
Guys, I think my SATA3_2 port has just died on my brand new (As in 2 days old) Asus P8Z68-V Pro B3 :|

How'd you manage that?
[QUOTE=David Tennant;32394104]How'd you manage that?[/QUOTE]
No fucking clue. I just booted up and it said no bootable device found. Changed my ssd to SATA3_1 and it's working again..
I bought an OCZ Agility 3 in advance for when I get my laptop and put it in my desktop.
Disk read error. Disk read error. Disk read error. Disk read error. Disk read error. Disk read error. Disk read error. Fuck, DOA?!
Nope, shitty OEM motherboard in my Pentium D pc. My Mum's laptop now boots in 18 seconds, lucky her.
FFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUU-
I just ran rm -rf /usr/bin by accident on my server.
Great, now I gotta reinstall Debian. OHHHHHHH welllllll.
Or I might just install Arch on it. IDK. God damn it, I'm so pissed off right now! And it's taking all my self control to not punch a wall right now (In school - study hall)

Why the fuck would you buy an SSD for a Pentium D computer? That makes no sense.
I'm a dick with legs.

Wow, that's so terribly bad reading that I'm ashamed to be around posting with the rest of you (that's a lie, but I am disappointed with my self).

How could you accidentally run that command? You were in the wrong dir?

Pressed enter too early, is all. Not used to the squishy feeling keyboards my school compies have.
[editline]20th September 2011[/editline]
Well then. Let this be a lesson kids: Don't run in root unless you're 100% sure what you're doing.

I don't understand how anyone could possibly input a command like that on accident
Did I break something?

That's why I type the entire command then append sudo/su -c at the start when I'm doing shit that can't be reversed.
su -c > sudo by a long shot
[editline]20th September 2011[/editline]
I don't know why people even use sudo
I think next time I'll make some kind of safety net, like something that asks for confirmation if I try to rm -rf something under root. :v:
gsdf I had a moronic moment, nevermind what I typed earlier

You can restrict the stuff an user can do with sudo.
For example, have an user that only can run a package manager.
[editline]20th September 2011[/editline]
You can even restrict them to specific users, although with root they could just obviously su-drop into a user shell.
group permissions man, and don't give the root password to people you don't trust (just like you wouldn't give sudo permissions to people you don't trust)
You just can't run some programs as an user that isn't root. That's what sudo is useful for.
Going back to headphones, can anyone suggest a good set of in ear headphones, only requirements I have are that they can't have a band over the top as my hair'd get in the way and have a good (for in ear headphones obviously) bass, would be appreciated, the ones I chose always seem to be marketed crap or break after a year.

It's my favorite program of the year.
I used to use it all the time. Until it simply stopped uploading anything even after reformatting (I didn't reformat only for that)
Anyone know any cool, lesser-known Firefox plugins? We all know about the ABPs and the Noscripts and such, but are there some hidden gems out there?
I love you guys.
I wish I had internet again.
1-4 more painstaking weeks.
Time to replay the Orange Box for the fifteenth time!
