Now if there was something that would prevent Garry's Mod from eating 2GB OF MY RAM. I have plenty of RAM but it still bothers me.

wait what, how the fuck did I manage to play gmod at 15FPS on my netbook back when I had windows, then? It only has 1GB of RAM :tinfoil:
wait what, how the fuck did I manage to play gmod at 15FPS on my netbook back when I had windows, then? It only has 1GB of RAM :tinfoil:
Windows starts using your harddisk as ram when it runs out of physical ram.

Especially since when I play Minecraft on it, my memory usage becomes 99%. It barely manages to keep some free. (Then again, Minecraft IS a memory hog)

To fix GMA artifacting with source: dx9
To fix GMA artifacting with source: dx9
Too bad it doesn't support dxlevel8 anymore :(
Virtualization != Dualboot
Well obviously, but depending on the need of the users it could be a part of the answer. Though this will more impact tablets and such, desktops and laptops will most likely have a choice to turn it off* *The restrictions I mean

The only reason you would want to run linux is 1. Your pc isn't good enough for windows. Which is not the case here because its Windows 8 certified 2. You're running a server or w/e
Completely random thing I felt like was worth mentioning So I was playing Oblivion quite a while ago and after beating the main part of the game, I decided to head on into the Shivering Isles to see what that was all about, which I did beat. Go up to the gatekeeper, see what all that hub-bub was about... Hey, let's talk to all these adventu- [thumb]http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/594696902063339522/46D606BDA33E0A8AC48C9243797782D1B0E4B8D6/[/thumb] Uhh... Rude. And then this happened when I summoned Haskill for the second time... [thumb]http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/594696902064043460/2C905D783ED821BD139D984013DE53F9E14A9481/[/thumb] Okay, something's not right with this expansion, I don't think he's supposed to be a wart on the floor (he did eventually teleport to his previous spot) And then later (no screenshot available) a character named Syl was supposed to show up during a cutscene but... She never showed even though her dialogue was playing. Freaky. Had to load an earlier save to get her to appear. Annoying. Another character didn't show up somewhere else too, but it was just a guard and didn't really matter since she probably woulda died anyways. Conclusion: Without unofficial patches, Shivering Isles is pretty damn broken compared to the vanilla game itself.

I just made a old dell optiplex 255 or something fell over (THe oldest type of computer in the school) according to some faggot in my class, he was ramming into the table so my bag fell on it :V Now its beeping on boot, then proceeds to run all fans at 100% nonstop :v:
I was reading what my district's IT is going to do regarding some websites, they're blocking Google because they have no idea how to block a subdomain, so goodbye Google, and they're not going to allow people to use CMD. :frown: The bright side is that they have Fedora on the computers there for some reason.
Too bad it doesn't support dxlevel8 anymore :(
are u talking about source because i run tf2 with mat_dxlevel 80 no problems except for on servers with ~~1337 3FF3CTS~~
thankfully the college PC's are pretty lax. I can run any portable software I like and the internet isnt filtered.
What would you otherwise be using the RAM for?
Masses of tabs in FF with YouTube videos in them because I'm too lazy to go through my history to listen to something different, and possibly something resource intensive in the background. I have 8GB but to me it's just silly to have a program or game use any more then 1GB, even if you have the maximum amount of RAM your OS can support.
Memory Fox appears to just page a lot of the shit to disk. I suppose it's useful, if you're running on 64kb of RAM.
Shadaez disagrees with everything I say, he seems to dislike any sort of head/earphones that aren't clinical, if you want a less than a shit amount of bass in your earphones there's very little choice. And I don't mean to be condescending, but I'm on head-fi just as much as I am facepunch so my general recommendations aren't just self experience trying to justify a product I bought but the collective decision of experienced headphone users.
Well, I do find the idea of extra bass to be bad; You're accustoming yourself to a flawed sound. Even that, if you wanted a bassy IEM (which he didn't specify) I'm sure there's better choices than 3 in the same line (which is why I disagreed). Just because a headphone doesn't have an unnaturally high bass response, doesn't mean it has no bass. I'd say for $10-20 to get JVC Marshmallow, $50~ refurb Monster Turbine, and that's all I really know. I'm sure the majority of people will find a super bassy headphone to sound better because that seems to be what most equate to quality.
My friend is going to buy a new PC. He was going to buy the case first. He was 2.16€ short.
My friend is going to buy a new PC. He was going to buy the case first. He was 2.16€ short.
For the case alone (:v:), or for the whole pc?
One of the most retarded things about Mac OS X in my opinion is this: PRESSING ENTER ON A SELECTED ITEM, RENAMES IT. Who the fuck in their right mind would EVER want this?
People who use photoshop. because all mac users use the photoshops.
People who use photoshop. because all mac users use the photoshops.
Hurr durr generalization
People who use photoshop. because all mac users use the photoshops.
I use GIMP, because Photoshop is too mainstream.
Guys, i got a copy of Roxio PC Game capture for free with my i5-2500k, should i try it, or it utter shit and should i use fraps?
You got it for free so you might as well try it i suppose
I don't know, i thought roxio was one of the companies that made bloatware that came with several OEM installations
I use Linux because I prefer Linux.
Yea and that, and you wouldn't want to virtualize it then right?
