If a subwoofer has enough output to vibrate, that's pretty good.
If an appliance vibrates when it's not supposed to, that's pretty bad.
Was just playing Fallout, noticed NPC voices suddenly disappear.
Do some research, turns out my center speaker (5.1) doesn't produce any sound.
Im using Windows 7, sound output is set to 5.1, and when using the speaker test function the center speaker doesnt produce any sound. Plugging into the left port for example makes the speaker work for left sound, so it isn't broken.
Speakers are logitech x530, soundcard is onboard of Asus P8Z68-V Pro :|
I'm wondering what you'd ever use a 17MM fan for.

You could probably fit one of those on each of your RAM sticks if you want

Or north/southbridges
Or north/southbridges
Man, I must be getting old, because I tend to think of northbridges as having just a plain heatsink, and the southbridge as just having nothing. Needing active cooling on that just seems extravagant to me.
Yeah, I know that's not actually the case anymore, but that's still how I think about things.
DAMN KIDS GET OFF MY LAWN YOU HEAR?

They don't really need cooling, maybe on those older (pre sandybridge) super 1337 overclock boards.
Also i love my asus mobo + BT Turbo remote app :v:
I officially have about $3000 dollars worth of displays on my desk.
LOL
Just curious, why does everyone hate VB? A trusted friend of mine says that
it can do literally everything c++, java, c#, etc. can do
Is this true?
Or north/southbridges
those usually have 40mm fans
Just curious, why does everyone hate VB? A trusted friend of mine says that
Is this true?
yes. Can it do it well? No.
A lot of the shit C can do, VB does about as good as Flash.
Just curious, why does everyone hate VB? A trusted friend of mine says that

That's technically true (especially the C# bit - you can compile a C#.net program and decompile it as VB.net, they're so equal), but VB tends to be very forgiving of mistakes, and thus VB programmers tend to be terrible. It's also a very unfriendly language for other programmers - it randomly uses different terms and words for things that other languages agree on.
Oh, and then the blasphemy known as "On Error Resume Next".

You can write a program which prints the completed works of Shakespeare in brainfuck.
This doesn't make it a good idea.

[editline]21st September 2011[/editline]
I'm actually going to write it in Buttfuck. I wrote up the language in 2009 and haven't used it since.

hello world program in buttfuck, this will be almost fun probably not
[editline]21st September 2011[/editline]
actually it prints "hello, v????B" so apparently I already missed a bit
[editline]21st September 2011[/editline]
the fun part is that it slims down the language even more to five characters
my english teacher hit the print screen key and honestly spent half the period waiting for something to come out of the printer
Holy flying fuck the monitors on the new computers in our school district are wide. Like, wiiiiide. I think their aspect ratio is somewhere around 16:6.
Also, they all came with Windows 7, but of course the school district put XP on all of them :suicide:
But with that comes content: They left the stickers with the Win7 keys on them alone. Didn't cross the keys out with Sharpie, didn't remove them, just left them there. Meaning some kid with a brain and an inferior version can just take a sticker home and TADA INSTANT WIN7.
wow, is that a really good deal or am I missing something
no, I'm pretty sure that's a really good deal
weird huh
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883155196
Dam thats a good deal, just get rid of the case and you got quite the computer.
Jeopardy question today: (I forget the exact question, so bear with me.)
"This operating system, started in 1991, was founded by Linus Torvalds."
Contestant 1: "What is binary?"
"Incorrect."
Conestant 2: "What is LIE-nux?"
"That is correct."
Good deal or not, the fact that it's an alienware and that I'd be owning an alienware annoys me, I'd have to explain to everyone why.
judging by brand is about as smart as burning books
judging by brand is about as smart as burning books
Well if that is true facepunch sure loves a good book cooking
Good deal or not, the fact that it's an alienware and that I'd be owning an alienware annoys me, I'd have to explain to everyone why.
Or you could rip it's guts out and put it in a better case, fresh windows install, bam normal gaming computer
Why is it silly for a game to use more than 1GB RAM? Games are made so they run as good as possible (read; some games), and therefore they utilize resources as much as possible. If the games runs better when occupying 2GB RAM, that's probably because the game designers didn't think you would be doing much else than concentrating on that full screen program.
That's where I'm different, and apparently dumb.
I cannot stand running games full-screen. I multitask all the time, listen to music while playing games (often muting the in game music if it has any), talk to people, look up shit related to the game and other things, and half the games I play crash or otherwise freeze up for a few seconds if I alt-tab out of it if it's not windowed.
Plus I dislike not being able to see what's going on elsewhere on my computer. I tend never to focus on one thing at a time, I have a terribly short attention span and sometimes I have to do other things while playing a game to keep myself from getting bored of it and never playing the damn thing again.
So uhh, yeah, I guess I'm the minority...
Or I'm just plain retarded and shouldn't deserve to have a computer. I don't know really.

I refuse to play minecraft in anything but the lowest resolution possible while keeping the GUI large sized. At least I can watch videos as well.
Alright, this is now officially BULLSHIT:
Pressing the "Abort Compile" button in CodeBlocks causes an instant and unavoidable bluescreen.
How the fuck is that even possible anymore? Yeah, on Windows 98 or something, I can understand, but how does a simple "kill the gcc process" cause the thing to not just crash, but take down the entire OS?

I'm so witty :downs:
This replacement monitor has three stuck green pixels.
