Did that, same card is not showing any temps.
They're two different models of the 6870 but both are xfx. When I bought it I thought the newer card was the same one as my older one since the website showed the wrong card. Gave the store a call and they told me to come in and talk to the manager about it.
My older card is a HD-687A-ZNFC, the new one is a HD-687A-ZHFC which was mislabeled as the HD-687A-ZNFC at the store. Plus if you look it up on the Micro Center website the picture is the wrong card.
Typing on an iPhone is a bitch.
Going to follow up on this. Called the store and told them about how they're showing the wrong info and the guy I talked to was completely clueless and just didn't care at all so I got his manager and explained.
I'm now going to the store, getting a refund, keeping the card, and they're ordering the right one free of charge. All I have to do is swap them when it arrives!

Wait, you mean you get to keep the newer one too?
snip late
He said swap the card. He's keeping the card until a new one comes in.
Edit: But you said refund. Now I'm confused.
My school's robotics team is using EasyC for training, I'm going to barf. Is it possible to actually edit the code with EasyC, or are you fucking stuck with drag and fucking drop. I want to fucking do advanced stuff for the ai during the autonomous period that easyc drag-&-fucking-drop just can't do.
Yes, there is a way to actually edit the code. Write the code outside the entire EasyC system (Notepad++ works), then compile it by calling the actual compiler (not the IDE) from the command line or a batch script. That's how I did it.
It's weird seeing people with the same name as me.
Only met two people with the same name and that was in England and Wales while on vacation.
Also, do anyone know what's going on here with my second 6870 temps not showing up?
My second 5770 does that all the time. When it's under some sort load it actually shows the temps.
Just saw you're getting it replaced anyway. By all means take the newer card, but it may just do the same thing again. Check it while running a game or something (if you have a 2nd monitor).

I got them on false advertisement and the guy flipped so I get my money back and a new card.

But do you actually get to keep the old one too?

Or am i content and don't those cards support that?
Basically I get my $210 back and I keep the card until the right model is in stock which will be Saturday or Monday. Just swapping the card when possible pretty much.
AWESOME
Remember that cool place I was an intern at for a week doing some work as a computer guy or whatever?
Well they just called and I'm getting to work there, starting on monday :woop:
They mostly just need to get images on some new laptops (20 or so), but there might come up more work during the week.

planning a UT99 LAN party with some of my buddies in my double IT lesson tomorrow, I have a feeling that most of them will just say "lol wtf is this bad graphic shit" and the whole lesson will be awkward alt+tabbing in and out of the game when the teacher walks past

L4D school lan is pretty fun. We sat 4 peoploe in an empty classroom screaming at the laptops, zombies and eachother during lunch about a year ago
Otherwise quake seems like a good idea, Low requirements (shit laptop), Fast paced and fun

Nice trick. I wonder if we can have Leonardo Di Caprios face replace the bar when listening to the Inception soundtrack

Should be in the "About Spotify". As well as a new login screen for it. It's shiny.

Considering making my next pc a mini-ITX rig for space and portability reasons. How much of a performance hit will there be on a mini-ITX board assuming I'm running fairly high spec components?
[editline]22nd September 2011[/editline]
Or do I just lose the connectivity and features a full ATX board gives?
Heat is gonna be a bitch

Seems like it's gonna be enough, just need a low enough profile cooler. Here's to hoping a C-14 will fit.
Motherboard doesn't directly have anything to do with performance, only overclocking, expansion options etc.
Motherboard doesn't directly have anything to do with performance, only overclocking, expansion options etc.
Eugh, i've seen benchmarks that show performance differences between motherboards but you're right it shouldn't be a problem. Anything I'm forgetting though?
I was considering a mini ITX pc, too. Sounds so awesome to have a tiny computer that would be just as powerful. Make sure you get a good motherboard, you won't be able to get anything other than onboard sound, ethernet, etc, since there's only one expansion slot (unless it's USB) so make sure it's all pretty good.
