Uh, if I am reading the Wikipedia article correctly, it says college is either an university or a "stop" between secondary school and university. Here, primary school is 8, secondary school is 6 years long, after we complete the matura, we can go to universities based on the score we got on the matura and the last 1.5 years' grades.
College is a university, but it's not :v: It's completely fucked up in the UK from what I've heard because some college's there may call themself Uni's while they're not.
WHY CAN'T ALL SCHOOLSYSTEMS/CURRENCIES/WALLOUTLETS AND TV STANDARDS BE THE SAME WORLDWIDE
Because that would be common sense :downs:
WHY CAN'T ALL SCHOOLSYSTEMS/CURRENCIES/WALLOUTLETS AND TV STANDARDS BE THE SAME WORLDWIDE
The same reason why the USA can't use fucking metric.
WHY CAN'T ALL SCHOOLSYSTEMS/CURRENCIES/WALLOUTLETS AND TV STANDARDS BE THE SAME WORLDWIDE
I agree with walloutlets and TV-Standards. An English schoolsystem in Estonia would probably suck, as you guys do not learn foreign languages. And I like that the schoolsystems are different . Currencies, somewhat. I mean, the currency can be a bit of the countries culture but yeah.
An English schoolsystem in Estonia would probably suck, as you guys do not learn foreign languages.
Let's get rid of all languages except one, then :D
The English educational system is a heap of shit, you really do not want it. IT lessons are awful. Forced religous studies up to year 9 was awful, it's just generaly awful.
The English educational system is a heap of shit, you really do not want it. IT lessons are awful. Well, I know a family full of religious people, but they are kinda dumb anyways. Like limiting their sons computer usage and they do not even have internet, so wtf.

I have forced religious studies, Have I told you I go to a Christian oriented school? Have I told you it's a hellhole? Yeah, think I have.

[editline]27th September 2011[/editline]
The same reason why the USA can't use fucking metric.
we were using imperial when you were still british prisoners in exile [editline]27th September 2011[/editline] at which time you were also using imperial
Religion classes and creationism are unknown words here, we take evolution as a fact, and if you want to study religion, go to a religious school.
imperial makes more sense too. metric is just arbitrary units times ten, imperial is based off the circumference of the earth, minutes of arc, and divisions of such for smaller measurements
imperial makes more sense too. metric is just arbitrary units times ten, imperial is based off the circumference of the earth, minutes of arc, and divisions of such for smaller measurements
Metric is a fuckton easier to remember than imperial lol. And Metric is got by dividing the earths size or smth like that. Can not remember exactly atm.

Originally intended to be one ten-millionth of the distance from the Earth's equator to the North Pole (at sea level), its definition has been periodically refined to reflect growing knowledge of metrology. Since 1983, it is defined as the length of the path travelled by light in vacuum in 1⁄299,792,458 of a second.[1]

What o.O [editline]27th September 2011[/editline]
1⁄299,792,458 of a second is pretty arbitrary. [editline]27th September 2011[/editline] It's imperial that is derived from the circumference of the earth
1⁄299,792,458 of a second is pretty arbitrary.

Originally intended to be one ten-millionth of the distance from the Earth's equator to the North Pole (at sea level), its definition has been periodically refined to reflect growing knowledge of metrology.
Our science teacher said that to us pmuch. Well, our book.
a nautical mile for example is one minute of arc at any meridian, or one minute of arc at the equator
1⁄299,792,458 of a second is pretty arbitrary. [editline]27th September 2011[/editline] It's imperial that is derived from the circumference of the earth
Just looked up arbitrary in the dictionary and I don't see what that word has to do with any of this.
Just looked up arbitrary in the dictionary and I don't see what that word has to do with any of this.
ok then tell me why they chose 1/299792458 light seconds
-snap-
Don't know if this answer bouth your questions but I can't really find any serial number but I will keep looking. It looks like this The name of it is "deskpro en"
Oh i remember that. My school used to have that when i was very young. Labyrinth screensaver, Jpeg Rape wallpapers and Pettson och Finduds all day long Edit: Wow, I just jumped 50 posts into the future, I got to check for new pages
ok then tell me why they chose 1/299792458 light seconds
They didn't choose that, it was riginally intended to be one ten-millionth of the distance from the Earth's equator to the North Pole, then later, to make it more precise, they measured how much time does light take to travel that distance, that's how they got that number.
ok then tell me why they chose 1/299792458 light seconds
They didn't "choose" that it is 1/299792458 light seconds, they converted the standard they already had to light seconds so that you can always, no matter in what conditions, measure one metre as light always travels at the same speed no matter where you are. [editline]27th September 2011[/editline] Damn ninja.
1⁄299,792,458 of a second is pretty arbitrary. [editline]27th September 2011[/editline] It's imperial that is derived from the circumference of the earth
The metre was originally derived from measuring the Earth too. Imperial is illogical in the modern world where everything should be a power of 2 or 10.
ok then tell me why they chose 1/299792458 light seconds
Why are you trying to defend Imperial? You are the only country in the world who still uses it. Seriously, metric is easier to learn, remember and everyone BUT YOU GUYS knows it.
Nobody fucking cares how it was made, it is just a fuckton easier to remember. 1 foot = 12 inches. How is it easy to remember? 1 meter = 100cm . Much easier.
1 foot = 12 inches. How is it easy to remember?
It's the size of my foot, duh.
