It's the size of my foot, duh.
What if you are a midget ?
What if you are a midget ?
Then he has very large feet for his length.
IIRC (I heard this several years ago so don't take this as complete fact, like 1st grade) there was some place somewhere a long time ago that one time had problems with measurements One person would say so and so inches was a foot, because that was the length of their foot But due to people having different foot sizes there was a bit of a conflict So the King of whatever place set a standard, the King's own foot size of 12 inches I have NO idea if this is true or not, my memory is shit so I could've gotten some things- or everything- wrong I'm going to go google it Edit: Looked at Wikipedia, I was right, sort of...
Some believe that the original measurement of the English foot was from King Henry I, who had a foot 12 inches long; he wished to standardize the unit of measurement in England. Though there are records of the word "foot" being used approximately 70 years before his birth,[30] it is supposed that this old standard was redefined ("calibrated") according to Henry's foot. In fact, there is evidence that this sort of process was common before standardization. A new, important ruler could try to impose a new standard for an existing unit, but it is unlikely that any king's foot was ever as long as the modern unit of measurement.

What if you are a midget ?
both feet! :science:
What I meant was that it's literally the size of my foot [editline]27th September 2011[/editline] Nobody gets me, baww
The same reason why the USA can't use fucking metric.
Because it would cost billions of dollars to replace all of the machine parts, signs, tools, etc. It has nothing to do with Americans being stupid or ignorant or any of those negative stereotypes you want to force.
FORCED RELIGIOUS STUDIES? Okay, fuck off. Seriously? I barely know anyone who is religious, wow. Well, I know a family full of religious people, but they are kinda dumb anyways. Like limiting their sons computer usage and they do not even have internet, so wtf.
From my experience, a tiny percentage of this group acts a certain way, so they must all be exactly like these few individuals!
Because it would cost billions of dollars to replace all of the machine parts, signs, tools, etc.
No? That's why you phase them out. That's always being done anyway.
Because it would cost billions of dollars to replace all of the machine parts, signs, tools, etc.
And the losses in conversion that exist already? Roadsigns are being replaced constantly - start churning out ones with both speeds on them. Car speedos, at least in Europe, are calibrated to both. Machine parts should already use metric, though if they don't, then they also need to be replaced over time due to wear and the like. It can all be phased, with little extra cost. Now, back to getting my dorfs to butcher excess puppies...
Because it would cost billions of dollars to replace all of the machine parts, signs, tools, etc. It has nothing to do with Americans being stupid or ignorant or any of those negative stereotypes you want to force.
I never meant it was to do with America's stupidity, but with production model shit you could slowly start putting metric and imperial measurements on and slowly over time take imperial out, of course teach both metric and imperial in text books. But It makes life so much easier when people from the other side of the world starts talking to an American and they say like 90 lbs and I'm just like "Wat" and then that person can just go "Oh sorry, 40 KG". At least start teaching kids both.

I use metric for everything apart from stone and miles. I can't stop using them as it's hard to get some kind of metric point of referance for them. I mean I know a bag of sugar is one Kg, so I work from that v:v:v
No? That's why you phase them out. That's always being done anyway.
But you can't just slowly phase out many things. For example, a large industrial drill press can't just be converted willy nilly even over time, you would have to construct a new one. With most of the large machinery in the American industrial complex, you can't really phase everything out so slowly seeing as most large things don't get outright replaced as they get older, individual components have to be built according with imperial systems of measurement.

Suddenly, progress. [editline]27th September 2011[/editline] And, preferably, stop supporting old standards. The only reason to ever do this is something like moving from imperial to SI.

Pretty sure a large industrial drill press would be obsolete and completely non-standard in 50 years.

Do you really think all those parts are all made in the US or something?

It seems like all you're saying is that we need to do is just start changing our standards. Well I'm trying to say we can't just do it as easily as that.

You'd be suprised how often things like roadsigns and drill bits are replaced. You seem to think that the same process hasn't been done in other countries. Well, it has, and it's only going to get more expensive if you leave it for longer and longer.
Early 1960's era computers using telnet? [t]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5003648/wat.png[/t] Can't blame 'em for trying, at least they're actually using real network protocols as opposed to bullshit ones Lost Season 4 Episode 6, The Other Woman - if you're interested. [sp]Faraday is in the tempest attempting to gas the island out from what I can see[/sp] I paused the moment I saw telnet so I don't know what the fuck is happening, as per usual with Lost.
Oh, and http://ux.asus.com/ For those of you who live in new york :v:
Hey guys, remember this? I'm still proud of that.
You know who he reminds me of? The cunt you know at school that nobody likes that thinks he's cool.
Remember the guy who came back to tell FP he had cheated money from some people here by claiming he's poor and sick or something along those lines? What happened to him in the end anyway?
Remember the guy who came back to tell FP he had cheated money from some people here by claiming he's poor and sick or something along those lines? What happened to him in the end anyway?
He asked for money from people because he said his brother was ill with something and it was to help his medical fee's then came back saying that his brother wasn't sick and he spent the money on a gaming PC, I think. It pissed people off because a lot of the people who donated were like "I don't have much but I gave what I can" sorta stuff. He got perma'd and abused.
You know who he reminds me of? The cunt you know at school that nobody likes that thinks he's cool.
often has mild autism too
He got perma'd and abused.
Oh yeah, I think someone made a meme out of his face as well. I want to find that one again. [editline]27th September 2011[/editline] Er, a memegenerator page, anyway
