LEDs don't bother me at night.
Then again I think I'm the only one here that actually shuts his computers off, so all I get is a single green LED (charge light) from the P4-era laptop I got from the nice old man, and occasionally two tiny LEDs from my eeePC if I don't shut it down at night.
Even when I do my USB always on power feature means my mouse glows. Sure I could turn it off in the bios/with a jumper but I'm lazy
After using Windows 7 for a few months now, I can safely say that this is the best new feature I've used.

I don't get the Status thing in mine, is there an option or something I've never seen?
and no, it's a V100, the V100 gets 250/230 read/write

Ah, that's pretty decent
I just had my graphics card in the oven a second time, my computer is now back to normal.

Time to ditch XP on my server and get linux mint put in.

What?
Well, for whatever reason, I updated my graphics drivers and my mouse drivers that hadn't been working for 6 months (I'd been using default drivers instead) began working. I'm confused, but I'm not going to go tinkering to prevent messing them up again.
FUCK, mint just kernel panicked booting up, I hope this iso isnt corrupt.

In your case, I would hope the ISO is corrupted.
Because if the ISO is OK, that means the clean copy of Mint is crashing and the answer is something more complex.

I've had it running just fine before, so I imagine the file has been corrupted over time.

Nope, just copied it onto a flash drive again, same error. Atleast I can upgrade from V9 to 11 though.
Timeline of what just happened to Facepunch/what is happening/what is going to happen in a second or so:
0 seconds: Someone posts links to the DiRT3 leaked cd-key database on General Gaming
0.0001 seconds: Absolutely fucking buttravaging.
[editline]2nd October 2011[/editline]
Hmm, that server load died down fast, Facepunch was unresponsive for like 30 seconds or so and then nothing.
Guessing there'll be a bigger shitfest when it spreads around a bit more.

love you too
I'm hating this. I'm using Nightly, and after update 10.godknowswhat, every time I click my nice, single-colored taskbar icon, it launches with the default icon.

Is there a way to fix this? A resource hacker is out of the question since it'll get replaced again whenever it updates, I think.

the dips in the SSD benchmark are where I opened a tab in firefox.
Okay, that was really strange. A couple keys on my keyboard (p, s, and a couple others) stopped working for a bit, then started working when I was typing up a garbled message for help on this. Any ideas what that was?

Should I upgrade to a 6870?

I don't have enough money to do a new build.

Might as well just do a new build.
OK, so I spent most of the day cleaning up my hard drives. Cleared up about 40GB of space. And then I ran some defrags to speed stuff up.
I did, however, find something very odd. There is one file that I cannot delete, no matter what.
Delete? Permission denied.
Shift-Delete? Permission denied.
Use UAC to become admin? Permission denied.
Try to change the owner? Permission denied.
Open command prompt as admin, delete? Permission denied.
Same, but just trying to take ownership of the file? Still denied.
After looking online, it seems like it may indicate the disk is slightly corrupted. I've scheduled it to run a thorough checkdisk next time I reboot (you can't do it on an OS drive). I'm also going to try to find my Ubuntu live CD, which will definitely fix it.
Then it looks like you might have to wait it out as any single upgrade would result in bottle-necking
What would contribute to the bottlenecking? I assume CPU, but what else?
