I have one too, that's also the USB port that can be powered even if the laptop isn't turned on.
I have yet to see it work, though. :v:
I have that on mine. I use it sometimes to charge my mp3 on the bus
All the USB ports in my netbook are powered when it's on standby. Maybe they also are when it's turned off, but I don't know because it never is.
I wonder what having a single, universal port would be like.
And I don't mean like USB, I mean quite literally a port that accepts anything - a standardised master design.
It'd have to be connected to some general-purpose port on the motherboard, though.
(Compact external PCIe x16?)

I think the setting in the BIOS said that it only did that if it's on AC, so that wouldn't work for me.

That's what USB was (and still is) supposed to be: Universal Serial Bus.

Yeah, I know that. I was just kind of meaning a PC that solely functions with one type of slot, as opposed to a handful of USBs, a few video inputs, the power cable, ethernet (though most use wi-fi now) and so on.
WHAT HAVE YOU DONE CHROME, WHAT HAVE YOU DONE WITH THE FONT RENDERING?!
Seriously, it was a little annoying first time, but this update just totally messed everything up.

You can have pmuch everything through USB. Sound is possible, mouse, keyboard, Ethernet (Well, Wifi thingies maybe then)
Video can be sent through usb but it is not useful. Something like DisplayPort would be better.

There is USB to ethernet (If that is doubt I sense there)
Just kicked some noobs in Quake 3 at my LAN. I mean come on, they'll kick my ass at Cstrike or CoD 4 but I won Quake every match.
In other news, nothing unexpected at the iPhone 4S conference.

Even the amount of bullshit comments hasn't changed.
HDMI or DisplayPort would both make good "universal cables". The transport speeds are absurd.
Anyone give me advice on this?:

Not sure if I left something out or not though.

Jacob Reeve is written with a small letter in one place.

Yeah I like the idea of something like USB, a truly universal cable. bonus props if it can be daisy chained.

Work on the capitalization.
sandy bridge, reeve, also, "Non 0800 number" should be written with a hyphen and not capitalized ("non-0800 number").
Make a proper list of the parts, use some other fonts too (I recommend DIN for titles and subtitles).
Oh, and I tried to modify AwfulVision to run only on Facepunch. Now it doesn't work...

Hey guys I'm looking to change my phone plan to giffgaff as I'm a poor poor student now, but where can you buy non contract & good phones from?
At the moment I've got a HTC magic which I think the contract runs out at the end of this month and I'm looking to swap it because it's getting slow and unresponsive (might just be getting bloated or crapping up due to how I treat it) Also does cynogen (sp?) or other droid mods take as much battery/processing power as normal andriod, just asking because I see them as how a linux type less demanding OS but with phones (probably completely wrong here I'm not that phone literate)
Thanks if anyone helps, I didn't really know where else to ask.
Here, have some DIN:

The Monte Carlo from Orange (ZTE Skate internationally) has a very good price/value ratio.
Oh god, just got bored and read this fight between you guys and LinuX, funny shit.
Also I've been wondering this for a long time, and I'm gonna feel dumb, but whats up with this whole 'comic sans' thing?
Overused to fuck, and it is never used in the right context, so it looks stupid.
[editline]4th October 2011[/editline]
Oh, and it looks REALLY unprofessional.

Comic sans is often misused for a wide variety of purposes. Sometimes even on official documents or similar.
It was designed to be a comic-like font, as the name implies, and thus anything that uses it for a purpose of actually conveying information that should be taken seriously is wrong. Also, personally, seeing the font annoys me because it used to be the default comment font in Notepad++ (Wonder what was up with that)

needs more jpeg compression
Thank you guys, that clears that up. Now make fun of my mom because she always asks me if I'm using comic sans when I'm typing a paper.

Far, far better representation of Comic Sans than the first one.

Wait, does she WANT you to?
