God dammit, Dropbox apparently doesn't allow much traffic. I'll reupload to Filesmelt, wait a sec. [editline]5th October 2011[/editline] Fixed
How big was the file that you exceeded the (20gb I think) bandwith limit?
How big was the file that you exceeded the (20gb I think) bandwith limit?
Size =/= Traffic Posted something from my photobucket in LMAo pics a while back. My 3 mb file ate up most of 10 gb bandwith pretty fast

I know how bandwith works thankyouverymuch.
photobucket is one of the worst image hosts anyway
I'm just dumping stuff onto puush now. I still have my photobucket account, though.

Anyone else hate when games have certain settings maximum called one thing and others another? (like high / very high) So you have to go and check every single thing to make sure they're all at the maximum settings.

What's even worse is when instead of just using low, mid and high, devs just come up with random words for all of them like "Advanced", "Gamer" or "Ultimate". Also, am I the only guy who downloads long YouTube videos instead of buffering them in the browser? I found out that by using a Firefox plugin, I can download long videos in 720p (generally) faster than buffering them in 480p.

WHY IS LOW NAMED HIGH?
Guys, I have to tell you about this. Networking club. We weren't really doing much, just cleaning stuff up for the LAN party on Friday. I find a pair of what I can only describe as "one-jack patch panels", little devices with one jack and a place to hard-wire a cable in. The purpose is to let you attach it to the front of a server rack, then connect the fixed one to the server with a precisely-fitted custom cable, and then connect whatever you need via the jack. There were two pairs - two RJ45 8P8C (that's standard Ethernet), and two RJ14 6P4C (standard phone line). Now, with one exception, all of our equipment is 100-megabit-ethernet or slower. 100BASE-TX only uses two of the four twisted pairs in cat-5 cables - the other two are only used for gigabit ethernet (or higher), or in some type of PoE. You can see where this is going. I decided to wire up those RJ11 panels to transmit Ethernet. Pins 1, 2, 3, and 6 were connected, the rest just hang loose. I tested it, it actually should work. I had a small setback, since the phone cable we had was only two-conductor (6P2C), but I'm going to dig through my cable box for either a 6P4C or a 4P4C that will work. I also thought of another "funny" cable to make to exploit 100-meg Ethernet's use of only four wires - a double-headed cable, one with two connectors on each end. That would actually have some use - there's a lot of cables on our server racks, and cutting that number in half would be beneficial. PS: If any of you all are in the Richmond, VA area on Friday night, you're invited to the party. ECPI Moorefield, 6PM, October 7. $5 cover. We've got the classic UT99, Halo Custom Edition, and a room for the console gaming peasants (I think they have SF4 and Smash Bros).
It would take me 8 hours to get there by car. :crying:

Content: There's this kid in my computer programming class, same one that pulled out all the audio cables trying to "fix" the speakers. This kid believes he is the best at technology. He joined ComPro for one reason: "I want to be a video game designer when I grow up." He tells this to everyone that he talks to, and gives his half-ass cliche plot line for a game to anyone talking to him. Something about a magic sword, I don't remember. Pretty forgettable. First of all, I always say that designing a video game is a lot different than programming one. There's people that make the plot, make the sound, make the art, make the ideas, market research, and the people that program them don't always have a say in the production. He hears none of this, lives in his own little fantasy world, and takes great pride in his spaceship that moves left on right when he presses buttons. Also, one more thing about this kid: He is a football player, but he's never in the weight room, ever. Looking at the chart in the weight room, he has been there a bit in the middle of the year, and that's likely the coach telling him to. He also plans to dance the caramelladansen (he would likely look like this) for Thassophobia (talent show). After getting to know more people in that class, there's actually a nice variety of personalities. There's a sociopaths ginger that always talks about bombs and killing things (I talk to him so I won't be killed when he shoots up the school in the inevitable future), a stoner or two, a gigantic obese kid that is the person with the least intelligence I know (besides metal retardation), and some pretty cute girl in front of me that is pretty good at coding stuff/general computer usage. I'll keep you all up to date!
Computers attract sociopaths and metalheads for some reason. I don't think I've been a single day in the IT department where I have not seen a single Slayer T-shirt :v: There's also this guy who wants to kill every single person on this planet and I suspect he's a FPer, he fits every criteria : Steam, neckbeard and obsessed with Final Fantasy. I'm trying to setup "FP traps" for him like mentioning traditional FP memes subtly in every sentence but he still isn't falling for it...

Anyway, I wanted to finish the program I started today so I put the .java file on the FTP in a .zip so I can finally download it. Well it turns out I forgot the book which contained what the fuck I needed to program :argh:
HEYHEYHEYHEYHEYHEY!
I DESPISE FINAL FANTASY
:colbert:

You and me both, Doc.
:respek::respek:
Anyone have a program that can make a Live USB with Windows Thin? [sp] One that doesn't make my USB fuck up please [/sp]
ugh facebook is dumb the link is safe but somehow mcafee says that it is dangerous
Anyone have a program that can make a Live USB with Windows Thin? [sp] One that doesn't make my USB fuck up please [/sp]
I think this has to do with it, if you can read spanish. http://microsoft2k8.blogspot.com/2011/06/crear-un-usb-live-con-windows-seven.html
Anywhere else? [editline]4th October 2011[/editline] I've forgotten if I just extracted the stuff from the ISO and threw it on the USB would work.
HEYHEYHEYHEYHEYHEY!
I DESPISE FINAL FANTASY
:colbert:
Games used to be good. Last one I liked enough to play past disc 1 was VII. The music is still awesome, though. Even XIII has a good soundtrack (although the J-Pop theme they've arbitrarily added to every game since VIII is just blegh). But the latest games show what happens when you put a costume designer in charge of game design, story, and production.
Nope, problem with the boot configuration when I tried to just throw it on. [editline]5th October 2011[/editline] Anyone?
Sounds like everyone lives near each other, but for some reason I think you live in the midwest/further south than VA.
Nope I live in Connecticut. Windows Thin, trying it on a DVD now. [editline]5th October 2011[/editline] There was an error during burning it. Dammit.
