Talking of laptops
what's the best thermal paste for them
Also preferably not glossy black. Mine's that and all those fingerprints are really annoying
I had an eeePC. Glossy back.
You can see 2-3 years worth of fingerprints on that thing.

I have a Dell Studio XPS 16 which also has that. The screen also doubles as a mirror if it's turned off. :v:

We were watching a movie on the projector in class and i was tired and didn't want to sit up. Still wanted to see the movie though.
Solution: Laptop with lid closed in front of me, Watch the projector mirrored on the lid top

The whitebord pens work very well on all Macs i'v seen. Write something and wipe off without a trace

I would try that, but I might have to sell a few major organs to pay for any damage I cause.

We sat in the school cafe and drew on macs for probably an hour. Then we took some damp paper and wiped it off. Simple as that. These macs were the thicker and probably a few year older model so maybe it's don't work on the newer

I wonder how difficult it would be to copper electroplate an iMac...
Is it weird if my PC-s uptime is higher than my phones?

Considering battery lives? Not really.

I'll try it when I can actually afford one...

Yeah, Those pens cost a fortune
Considering battery lives? Not really.
Considering battery lives? Well, it is one day but I have not had my phone die from empty battery, except the first time. And even then you have to do it. I usually recharge at about 10-20 % or so.
But my phone goes slow as fuck after a week and I just have to restart. Or last time it happened in a class, when I got angry and put my phone on a book with a bit stronger way or so. Just on the back and the battery did something and it restarted. Woop.

Since no one answered...
We used Arctic Silver on my HP craptop, cooled it off rather well but the terrible cooling system still made it get too warm. But it prevented it from overheating.
Edit: In other words, it brought it down from shutting off at 210F (100C) to a max load temperature of a little below 190F. It's definitely an improvement.
The expensive insurance on a friends laptop was about to run out, so we did this:

And if his plan works, he'll have a new PC soon :v:
Sorry i'm late but showed it to my IT Teacher and his response was
"I'm pretty sure that's not the way to liquid cool your computer.."

Yeah people always steal them from my school and the teacher always has to go get more.
So, my mother finally cleaned up her old laptop and I suggested using Linux because she won't have to deal with bloatware and windows' weaknesses in general. She thinks it's a good idea and it's down to choosing distro.
I'm thinking Ubuntu for ultimate user friendliness. Any better, less well known alternatives? Mint is not out either.

In my limited experience Ubuntu seems fine. All settings fixed and all needed programs installed there should not really be a problem
Or you could go with Linux Mint, but it kinda comes down to preference.
My mom uses Ubuntu, and she once said that she thought it worked better than XP. People say Ubuntu is bloated. Well they might be right, but it's still faster than XP is, even on an 8 year old computer like my mom's.
Gentoo

get arch on it with no gui
I can't believe I'm seriously considering doing an x86 router.
If we're going down this road then just install Dos.
Install basic, let her program her own OS!
