Any specific reason as to why?
It's more like Apple Vs * to be honest.
Apple Vs SELF? :v:

Actually get m0n0wall mod if you want a few extra features (that are explained in the website)

Apple, where 8gb more costs you 100$. 16gb more costs you 200$.
Seriously, i challenge any ipod/iphone user to justify that
twice chips = twice price

economies of scale mean it should be cheaper

8GB of flash memory does not cost $100, seriously.

I know, and all includes self. I'm not retarded :v:
Well I suppose it is true, Apple certainly arn't helping themselves in some ways.
Such as never ever making a budget computer, and completely alienating power users with their dumbed down software.

For comparison, I bought an 8 gb SD card for about $5
Not exactly the same but you get the idea
I'm zeroing about 15-20 old harddrives in stock while watching the dailyshow

Wait, you're talking about an SD card. Right. My MicroSD was €30 :v:
for some reason New Vegas is seeing my 8800GTS as a 7900GS.

So yesterday I attended the first programmer meeting for our Robotics Team at my High School. We're programming the bot in Java. I've really only done basic stuff in C++ so I was actually pleasantly surprised when a lot of the fundamental concepts in Java were fairly easy to understand. I thought it would be much more complicated than this but it's actually not too difficult.

All functions are fundamentally the same, it's just the implementation of those functions that differ from language to language (afaik).

If you are going to criticize Apple at least get your facts right. Now if you were to upgrade the memory a 16GB SD will run you $20-$50 while 32GB is $50-$100 and 64 GB is $100-$200. Also you need to keep in mind the cheaper versions are slower.
In the end it may look like it's a rip off but once you look at how quickly the price of memory goes up it's really not that bad.

Apple devices have no SD support, almost all other tablets do. They don't do the same thing apple does.
I wish I had more drives to Zero. I'm just doing these old 40GB we use as temp drives to keep small test servers online.
Apple devices have no SD support, almost all other tablets do. Oh you only have microSD? Well good luck finding one for a good price, better off just buying a 64GB tablet in the first place.
Oh and I would like to point out that the Samsung Galaxy 10.1 also lacks a SD slot

Like mobrockers said, other tablets have sd support. And a 16gb microsd card costs me 15$. You can get a 64gb SSD for 100$.

And what the hell does the SSD have anything to do with this? Unless there is a tablet that can use it I see 0 relevance to the argument at hand.

As MicroSD card's continue to drop in price, and increase in size, you will still be stuck with your 64GB that you paid double as much for, while I simply buy one of higher capacity when I feel comfortable with the price.
So here's the one PC I brought home, happily working after almost being thrown out.

:3:
I'm thinking I'm just gonna get as many as I can, I don't want them to be thrown out when they work :saddowns:
Heh.

Oh and by that time we will be up to the iPad 5 or what not that will be 64GB-128GB-256GB along with other tablets so I got nothing to worry about. My current iPad will make a nice picture frame. :v:

If you get USB external SSD's (I don't know) then the Transformer can run one.
Hang on, wouldn't the USB slow the SSD to the point where the SSD is worthless? God I'm content either way :v:

Well, it would be like using a massively large pendrive, really. USB 3 has decent speeds, though.
So to the programmers in this thread, would you guys say that it's more of a knack that you just have? Or is it more like something that pretty much any computer literate person will be able to do with enough practice?

If you have the slightest interest and understand how to spell basic English words like "if", "then" and "else" you've got what you need to start.
Just choose a simple enough language to start with so you don't get frustrated. Python seems to be popular.

Well that made me feel a lot better about doing this sort of thing as a hobby. I enjoy math so I assume that's a pro if you're fairly adept at that sort of thing?
