you guys will never guess what I'm posting from :v:
Implanted WiFI card inside you brain ?
Implanted WiFI card inside you brain ?
I'm insulted, my brain runs Gentoo.
you guys will never guess what I'm posting from :v:
An android device. :downs:
See, here's the thing - if you browse at my normal settings (show full for 4-5, collapse 1-3, and hide 0 and below, and giving a +1 or +2 based on karma), it's full of good comments - readable, coherent, and thoughtful, if a bit prone to groupthink. It's possibly the best moderation system I've seen. I'd prefer it here to the generally-good-until-Garry-gets-PMS-again-or-one-of-the-mods-decides-to-just-be-a-dick moderation we have now.
The problem with filtering out comments on Slashdot is that end up with like 10 comments to read about a subject, which consists mostly of a circlejerk. And reading a circlejerk is pretty boring. And yes, I acknowledge the irony of saying that and being here.
I'm insulted, my brain runs Gentoo.
I'm pretty sure Gentoo requires a network card you know
An android device. :downs:
Too broad a spectrum, try again.
you guys will never guess what I'm posting from :v:
You are running android on your laptop? (Is it yet possible?)
You are running android on your laptop? (Is it yet possible?)
Damn, that took shorter than I expected. Yeah, Android-x86 been out for ages.
Damn, that took shorter than I expected. Yeah, Android-x86 been out for ages.
How does it work? With mouse? And hows the keyboard?
How does it work? With mouse? And hows the keyboard?
Works with a mouse but also has the capacity for a touch screen, keyboard works nicely after playing with settings and it's working excellently on my eee 701.
Psh, my netbook CAME with Android
Anyone here know of a good and easy tutorial to use Rsync towards a remote server. I'm having trouble with and assigment to use rsync to backup files to a SME server at set intervals Maybe if i say Please :3:

Use Cron for scheduling to run at regular intervals.
What the hell? I think Trillian is trying to make me go insane, it's slowly becoming smaller and smaller every day... A few weeks ago it was the complete GUI, with my avatar, display name and everything. Last week my avatar and display name went away and the window got smaller, and now today I logged in to see now there's no info about me, there's only my contact list and a small "2" appearing :v:
probably trying to run away from you
Damn, that took shorter than I expected. Yeah, Android-x86 been out for ages.
Or you just use the actual android emulator that comes packed with the SDK..
Or you just use the actual android emulator that comes packed with the SDK..
Or I could install it on my netbook and have it natively running instead of emulated...
BlueStack solves both problems in one. Too bad it sucks right now.
BlueStack solves both problems in one. Too bad it sucks right now.
I don't want emulation, I installed it on my netbook so I can run it on my netbook.
BlueStack solves both problems in one. Too bad it sucks right now.
The android emulator utterly blows, Android x86 actually runs sort of quickly.
The android emulator utterly blows, Android x86 actually runs sort of quickly.
It runs as good as my dads Tegra2 Tablet on my netbook while the emulator on my desktop runs like my iPod Touch. A Piece of shit.
Or you just use the actual android emulator that comes packed with the SDK..
Why would you emulate ARM on a x86 processor instead of running a x86-native OS is beyond me.
ICS x86 would be so awesome.
ICS x86 would be so awesome.
It should be Open Source like 2.x again, unlike 3.x which was closed source, annoyingly enough.
I'm waiting for the official ICS update for my transformer. I've played with it a bit in the emulator, and comparing to the honeycomb emulator performance, it will run fast as fuck on an actual tablet.
I don't want emulation, I installed it on my netbook so I can run it on my netbook.
BlueStack isn't an emulator, it's the Dalvik VM ported to x86. In a nutshell, it runs Android apps natively on x86. Also, my ZTE Blade wasn't charging. Been battling with it for 2 days. Finally look up the problem with the most general keywords ever on Google. Found a DROID owner with same problem. I look at the battery contacts. The pins on the phone, the middle one is bent like hell. Straightened out, I think it works now.

My netbook just BSOD'd twice in a row because I tried to system resume :v:.... But I restart it and it's just fine. :wtc: w/e, it needed a reboot anyways.
You know how Apple are fucking retarded and set Macs with IR receivers to obey any remote by default? My school requires that you have a MacBook or MacBook Pro for school use. I brought an Apple Remote today. Yeah, let's just say today was a fun day.
It's an IR remote, AFAIK there isn't a way to only have one remote work. You might be able to do something with RF, like car remotes do, though that's probably overkill for a simple 6 button remote used to control Front Row. I do know that you can disable the IR receiver. Awesome prank though, I might bring in my iMac's remote and give it a shot some time. However, I overheard something about the MacBook cart going missing this week. Some teacher probably left it somewhere and forgot about it.
Can i join the android on a laptop party? :v:
