If you can, try to get atleast a sandybridge i5.
I can't afford it, and honestly I don't even want one, I know it's hipster of me but everyone has one, it's boring. Been with Intel since forever and although it's a bad time to go with AMD I just want to go with them, 6-core bulldozer just because It's shit.
I'm sorry, I read this thread is all and chrishind does the same thing except bashes apple :v:
Yeah, he does and it's fucking annoying as well.
oh you snipped it, rude.
Well, if you are going to go all super speed on me geez
How so?
I'm not gonna start this shit argument again, but what I meant was that it kinda looked like you presented it as fact, and not opinion. As an example: If I went into the Apple sub-forum, and had the statement "Windows is 20000 times better than Mac OSX." in my post, people would probably say I'm talking shit, and start arguing with me in a not very constructive way. ' See where this ended? So stop posting like that, and try to either make an objective post, or make it totally clear that it's subjective. Fuck automerge, it's my bitch.
OS X is 100x better than Windows at renaming files by pressing enter, gotta give it that.
OS X is 100x better than Windows at renaming files by pressing enter, gotta give it that.
What about we just drop the subject already.
Let's start the page with some Kinda Kontent! [thumb]http://i.imgur.com/kIosw.jpg[/thumb] This is what greeted me on the school computers today, some genius decided to give out the global desktop permissions to somebody and there were icons popping up everywhere :v: [editline]24th October 2011[/editline] Ignore the guy on the wallpaper, I did that when I was bored and found somebody left footage on one of the cameras
My friend bought a refurbished $40 OCZ 1000W PSU from NCIX for his GTX 570 dual-sli setup. Oh boy this is gonna be good
Did he get a free fire extinguisher thrown in? [editline]24th October 2011[/editline]
OS X is 100x better than Windows at renaming files by pressing enter, gotta give it that.
F2...
I know about renaming with F2, that's how it should be. I was just referencing the fact that enter renames in OS X, which I think even Deeps will agree is stupid.
How come the chat is suddenly empty?
Deeps ate everyone in his sleep. [editline]24th October 2011[/editline] http://www.facepunch.com/threads/1134762 Troll or just a dumbass?
Could not tell. Looks like matrix code to me right now
I turn off my monitors because they consume 200W each on a good day
My Dell U3011 normally would draw 125watts normally. Though I will bench my ZR30w.
My LG W2243S's draw 40W each. Not bad... [editline]24th October 2011[/editline] I just wish they had DVI in ;_;
:wtc: is wrong with the Telnet Server included with Win7? I want to cd for the second time, it tells me "More?" and closes the connection. I want to do a dir, "More?", disconnect; I want to run a .bat file, "More?", "fuck off, I don't care, connection closed". Why didn't they program some good manners into this? [editline]24th October 2011[/editline] Oh, and there's literally no documentation on this. Fun.
if there is one thing I hate setting up, it's MySQL. Why? Because half the shit just won't work. "mysql> CREATE USER 'stuff'@'localhost' IDENTIFIED BY '[NOPE]';" " Query OK, 0 rows affected (0.00 sec)" WHY WON'T YOU WORK.
if there is one thing I hate setting up, it's MySQL. Why? Because half the shit just won't work. "mysql> CREATE USER 'stuff'@'localhost' IDENTIFIED BY '[NOPE]';" " Query OK, 0 rows affected (0.00 sec)" WHY WON'T YOU WORK.
Is it bad that I just let all of my web apps use root?
Is it bad that I just let all of my web apps use root?
Probably, the main reason I use separate users is to organize things.
Is it bad that I just let all of my web apps use root?
Yes. Very. DROP DATABASE *;
I deny external SQL access and have a strong password, though.
http://www.facepunch.com/threads/1135044 Goddammit, that's fucking genius.
I deny external SQL access and have a strong password, though.
And then someone injects somewhere you didn't expect and your entire MySQL setup is fucked in the anus, instead of just the table. Come on man, this is MySQL sanity rule #1
And then someone injects somewhere you didn't expect and your entire MySQL setup is fucked in the anus, instead of just the table.
Good point. I'll be fixing that now.
Good point. I'll be fixing that now.
That's better.
I just figured out why ad block doesn't block youtube ads. I never had it installed.
if there is one thing I hate setting up, it's MySQL. Why? Because half the shit just won't work. "mysql> CREATE USER 'stuff'@'localhost' IDENTIFIED BY '[NOPE]';" " Query OK, 0 rows affected (0.00 sec)" WHY WON'T YOU WORK.
uh it does work, youre doing it right Query OK, 0 rows affected is what it normally says
So how much RAM should I have before I go 64bit? I only have 2gb and I want to upgrade to 4.
uh it does work, youre doing it right Query OK, 0 rows affected is what it normally says
Indeed. Adding an user touches zero rows. [editline]24th October 2011[/editline]
So how much RAM should I have before I go 64bit? I only have 2gb and I want to upgrade to 4.
Go 64-bit The amount of RAM doesn't matter. Just do it.
Indeed. Adding an user touches zero rows. [editline]24th October 2011[/editline] Go 64-bit The amount of RAM doesn't matter. Just do it.
Doesn't it run like crap with only 2gbs?
So how much RAM should I have before I go 64bit? I only have 2gb and I want to upgrade to 4.
You could stick with 2 GB, 64bit just lets you run more than 3-4 GB. However, since RAM is incredibly cheap (Assuming you have DDR3), you should get 4 GB anyways.
