Yeah I know, but I mean, Fraps takes a bit of resources as well right? Not as much as the game I guess.
I have a 2500k, stock clocks

And nope, I always monitor my computer while playing. GTA triggers turboboost.
By the way, does anyone know how to activate AA? I wonder how big the performance hit will be...
GTAIV doesn't have AA. You'd have to force it from the control panel.
Too bad the game doesn't have AA built in
From the drivers. Force AA/AF/Whatever you want.

GOD FUCK

Oh, and guys? I did try to force AA on some time ago. Guess what it did? It put AA on text, menus etc :v:
Maybe I did something wrong...
Forcing AA in games with engines that don't support AA doesn't work.
:(

Smug bugger, editing your post!

wait, now you changed it back again
Forcing AA in games that don't support AA doesn't work.
I've yet to have a problem with AA Forcing on my 6870, strange.
Had an edit-athon, forcing proper AA doesn't work in GTA, downsampling works though.
And what does down sampling do, again?
You run the game at a higher resolution then downsample it to your monitor's native, I believe ENBseries has SSAA for GTA though.

I see... Also, GTA's inbuilt Vsync sucks, it limits the game to 54FPS (?), just force it on in your controlpanel/whatever.
Sounds like GTA's developers suck at PC dev.
Their official excuse is that they could only get AA to work in Dx10 and since not everyone had Dx10 at the time (and still don't) they decided to keep it only Dx9.
Quite a bad excuse, no idea how they couldn't get AA to work in Dx9 or have Dx9/Dx10 options but I'm not a games developer, just seems like a poor effort, I wonder how L.A Noire will be, not like I care though it's released the same day Skyrim is, no idea who decided to do that.

Ever seen GTA:SA?
The FPS limiter forces it to around 20-30 FPS, and if you turn it off, you get way smoother gameplay, but some strange things start happening, swimming is like crawling through cement, and heavy trucks tend to catapult other cars into space when you run into them :v:

And being able to tap the horn key to toggle sirens is near impossible, since you're running at 3x the FPS it wants to be at, you have to release the key 3x as fast as you normally would

Still better than Saints Row 2 though!

I don't really know exactly what the thing contains, But could it not theoretically be done
Other then the fact that it kida already is a pc, Only with a shittier UI and locked down like all hell
I remember that i could put Linux on my xbox original
We just 'finished' with notepad and moved to Dreamweaver. Everyone uses Design view and the teacher teaches in Design view. Essentially hell. Also, font tags everywhere
I get the same, the difference being that we aren't allowed to use font tags (thank god) and get marked down if we dont have a CSS full of useless stuff which looks good when defined by the browser.

It's normal hardware for the most part but it's all integrated on the PCB so there's no way to actually re-use without major electronic know how, it's crap hardware anyway.

The original xbox was x86.
I don't understand why all game consoles aren't x86.

I'm seriously considering looking into Foresight Linux, the package manager sounds awesome as fuck.

I'm sure GMan's covered this in one of his rambles.
Maybe it's because it makes it harder to hack and run homebrew etc
