How on earth does one manage to mispronounce Unix?
"uh-nicks"?
[editline]31st October 2011[/editline]
Well while my keyboard dries I realized I had no extra keyboard
Instead of using onscreen for the next eternity I have a hackier solution
Apple Bluetooth Keyboard > iPod > VNC Client > Wifi > PC
It's surprisingly fast at sending keystrokes :v:
OOH-nex, maybe

I wonder how he'd pronounce Usenix.

-Tons of unique features available right out the box like facial recognition unlock, whereas only available on iOS if you jailbreak your device and install 100 different addons or not available at all
-Countless numbers of themes available either by interface controlling apps right from the marketplace or ROMS
-Permissions for apps to take over much control over the hardware and software (like an app that replace the entire lockscreen)
-Low level customizing aka ROM flashing allowing to get the most of your phone's hardware and software, including overclocking
-Nearly restriction free marketplace, none of that bullshits found in the Apple agreements for app submissions
-Sideloading right out the box aka installing apps from outside of the marketplace
-Hundreds of phones to choose from rather than stuck with one. For developers, it means that your program will also run on nearly all other Android phones instead of having to port it over and over again.
These are only few out of many killer features all android phones have. Different phones have various unique features such as Webtops on flagship Motorola phones.
To be honest, iOS has lagged behind Android for a very long time and quite dramatically, and you simply can't deny the superiority of it if you have ever used it extensively. I used to have an iPhone myself, and has always thought it was the best thing ever until I decided to give an Android phone a shot. I won't ever switch back to an iPhone even if you were to give one to me for free.

And have I mention that it also looks a lot better than iOS?
I would also like to add I can write Android apps on any platform I like,
I don't have to splash out on a Mac for the "official" SDK tools and then pay $99
anualy to get the thing on the app store.
"oh-sexe is an oopgrade of ooh-neex"

Also I don't get how apple gets away with having to pay money to develop apps.
Who in their right mind would pay money to develop for a shitty platform, then have your work taken off the appstore because of the worlds most restrictive eula?

I would, since Apple Appstore is the biggest application marketplace of its kind. Bigger the community = more attention to your app = more $$$. You just have to try and suck up to Apple's EULA in exchange for some decent extra earnings rather than making your app Android/whatever other platform specific.

Maybe for the same reason you have to pay for DLC on Xbox/PS3 when it's free on PC, i.e. because you're using their distribution platform?
If google can keep their platform running from ONE $25 payment from each dev, Apple can do the same, it's not as if they are short of money with the ridiculous hardware markup.

Didn't garry make a longwinded news posts on how actually getting any cash back is hard as hell?
It's not about them being short on money, it's about how they can make more money off of you.
Hello.
Didn't garry make a longwinded news posts on how actually getting any cash back is hard as hell?
It really depends on how popular the app is and several other factors like price. Either way, your royalty fees will pay off eventually and you will be making pure profit.

This is just an extension to my question; why get such a handicapped platform to begin with?

Oh ok, so after a while you do get some cash back, that's neat.

Heh, overheard some guys talking about hacking with a phone when suddenly one of them comments "I don't know how to hack, but I know how to change files with BIOS". Wat.
Nope, you broke your GPU, you'll have to RMA it.
Nope. Rebooting BF3 fixed it.

Can't find any cached copy :C
It was pretty good, he talked about how even though it was a pretty good game and people liked it, he didn't get enough exposure and so it died.
He also mentioned that the 15MB of DRM apple puts into your product is wholly useless and there are more people on the premium leader board than there are purchases.

Also, I have a few broken harddrives laying around and a broken fan. I've been thinking of making a 5400RPM fan, partly to understand how it works and partly to get a hilariously loud fan.
Does it have chipped wood?
Hmm? I guess not? It's a matching drawer system for my GALANT desk. I also got two extensions for my desk as well, It's going to be absolutely huge.
