I turn off the computer by pushing the case button once, initiating the normal shutdown procedure: Classmates: "omg what are you doing you'll break the computer" :v:

Hey uh guys, is this normal for an i7? When it idles, it hovers above 60c.
I wouldn't exactly call that healthy, try going through your computer with some canned air.

Because it certainly isn't normal for Sandybridge. Are you using the stock cooler? I've heard idle temps are up to 60 deg on the previous gen i7's with stock coolers.

Still not healthy temps, check if you seated the cooler the right way, and if you've overclocked it, downclock or get better cooling.
Comic sans presents :v: [editline]6th November 2011[/editline] GTA V looks slightly better than San Andreas [editline]6th November 2011[/editline] slightly
Can you guys recommend me a good cooler? Socket 1366 and uh, try to recommend me a small one.
http://mirrors.rit.edu/instantCSI/ I'm going to RIT now.
Guys, i've been getting KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR BSOD's lately, i'm guessing this has to do with the pagefile, but i've set pagefile to disable on my SSD, and to system managed on my Spinpoint F3. Did i do something wrong? [editline]6th November 2011[/editline] 8GB RAM BTW. And somehow my swap file just became 24GB..
My friend has been getting the exact same BSOD.
~uptime daredevil~
I'm going on 24 days with my phone, but I've had it go up to 3.5 months without rebooting.
8GB RAM BTW. And somehow my swap file just became 24GB..
I considered completely getting rid of my pagefile. What do you all think? I have 16gb of DDR2-1600 ram.
Can you guys recommend me a good cooler? Socket 1366 and uh, try to recommend me a small one.
The Hyper 212+ is a decent, relatively inexpensive air cooler.
20ghz!! And he was asking £1,600 for it in the description..
NO! They ended the fucking free DiRT 3 with my 6850! I fucking wanted it so much.
NO! They ended the fucking free DiRT 3 with my 6850! I fucking wanted it so much.
I'm still waiting for them to send the code for my copy that came with my 6970. I don't even really want Dirt 3, I wanted the Deus Ex Human Revolution promo.

Odd coincidence - I now have precisely 8088 songs in my library. THAT'S IT - NO MORE MUSIC. EVER. MUSIC IS DONE. NO NEW STUFF, K? Wait. The new Megadeth album finally came out. I'll need that. But after that, no more. Of course, once the new Zelda hits, I'll need that soundtrack... and then there's that one Final Fantasy album I haven't been able to find... if I can ever track it down again, I need that... and I still haven't digitized Dad's classic rock collection, which has a couple things I want... my library is lacking in Queen and Van Halen... oh, and I sort of want a complete Bach collection... Tocatta et Fugue in D Minor is good, but I need more... FUCK IT. MUSIC CAN RESUME. [editline]6th November 2011[/editline] Belay that - found one of them was a duplicate. That cuts me down to 8023. Which, as far as I can tell, is without significant meaning.

Hahaha. Deus Ex saved me on my School Certificate Science exam. The question was something along the lines of: "What will the social and ethical impacts on society caused by the future of biotechnology" (Someone can correct me)
Content from my chem class. I was given a pdf from my chem class and in it, it said to print it out, fill it in, scan it back in and hand the finished sheet in (I'm in an online course). The other way they said was to copy/paste the contents into another document and go from there, which is the course I would take if I could actually copy/paste the content from the pdf. I instead typed out the whole thing, which didn't bother me since it wasn't that big, but the major problem was the font. No, it wasn't comic sans or anything like that, but it was one of those fonts that uses smaller versions of capital letters for their lowercase letters. This is probably the most dumbest thing to do in a chem paper since I found myself having a hard time trying to distinguish carbon dioxide from two atoms of cobalt.

"It will likely create a big hole between augmented and non-augmented, but the question is, which one will be valued more by the observers of this radical change in society?"?

3 GHz on 1.288V? you suck at this
Not terrible for a Q6600, they are't great overclockers. And it's stupidly easy to overclock 775's anyway, just bump up the FSB until it doesn't post, then bump the voltage and repeat until something limits you.
3 GHz on 1.288V? you suck at this
It should be 1.35, I guess that's my motherboard. Works fine and perfectly stable.
I had my old Q6600 at 3.7 and 1.44v at one point but of course I killed that motherboard CPU probably still works I just don't have an LGA775 board to put it in

and it was 3.7 stable, I had gotten it up to 4.1 but at that point my air cooling wasn't good enough for it
Since when? The almost identical release date wolfdale's clocked higher, the G0s did ok.
