It allows for the connection of a Port Replicator. Port replicators are designed to be left where you often work and give ports for a monitor, sound, network and USB where the idea is to be able to plug in one port instead of several. This specification allows for the connection of Expansion Port 3 and QuickDock replicators. The HP port replicator costs between $50 and $130 US as of Jan 2010.
Yep.
I didn't think of using google-fu. I thought that "Expansion Port 3" was just the label for the expansion port, not it's real name. Call me content!

Anyone else getting the Asus X31 Zenbook?
Our school has a ban on them
Ban on iPads? what
Well, fixed my laptop. Had to remove the left hinge as it snapped off the part on the main board itself and there was this metal thing that would normally rotate, that wasn't going to rotate and was keeping me from putting the main power button cover back on. Fun.
Why do you have a Dell anyway
Why do you have a Dell anyway
This was before they went quantity over quality. The thing is a tough fucker. Been indestructible so far.
Sigh, got a couple of retards coming to visit, fuckers can't build a computer.
Two of my friends that has had a Dell laptop has had the harddrive fail in under two years. :v:
Sigh, got a couple of retards coming to visit, fuckers can't build a computer.
So they never played with Lego? [editline]13th November 2011[/editline]
Two of my friends that has had a Dell laptop has had the harddrive fail in under two years. :v:
My newer one had a hard drive fail, screen fail, battery fail and optical drive fail. Wish it didn't because it's much better than my current one. But hey, this one just will not fail. Never had anything fail on it, ever.
Two of my friends that has had a Dell laptop has had the harddrive fail in under two years. :v:
2.5 years old and my 1720 still going strong. The battery still gets over 2 hours running at full brightness and speed.
Just convinced a friend to get an Asus N43SN for light gaming at a cheap price. Feels good man. [editline]12th November 2011[/editline] This friend also got a crappy Dell desktop computer for christmas last year, and it's already having problems. GJ dell. His last laptop was an Asus as well, it's 3 years old now but it still works. He said that it was very noisy though. Probably just some dust stuck in the fan.
Our school got ipod nano's we can check out.
I have a Dell Vostro 1500, thing's a beast, 8600M GT, Core 2 Duo T8300, 3gb of ram and 1680*1050 (at 15 inches, the thing's probably denser than my phone). Weighs a ton but totally worth it, only issue is that the backlight isn't very bright, but I don't know if it was always like that or not. Such a shame they went to shit.
My 1720 has the same GPU, and it's an utter brick. I love the thing, though.
Served me well, 720p BC2 all day erry day. And it all worked out of the box on Arch(though installing nvidia and synaptics drivers enhances the experience greatly).
