I just use mine for presentations and development in bed.
Still, it handles portal 2 absolutely perfectly at native resolution.
I have a Dell Vostro 1500, thing's a beast, 8600M GT, Core 2 Duo T8300, 3gb of ram and 1680*1050 (at 15 inches, the thing's probably denser than my phone).
Weighs a ton but totally worth it, only issue is that the backlight isn't very bright, but I don't know if it was always like that or not.
Such a shame they went to shit.
My brother has a Vostro 1510. It's about three years old at this point and is basically a new laptop because everything has been replaced. The Nvidia graphics chip failed, the hard drive failed, the motherboard failed twice, the screen broke while inside the Dell laptop bag, the palmrest was replaced twice because it kept cracking and the dvd drive died. Thank goodness for the warranty.
Does your brother play tennis with that laptop or something?

How can iPod Nanos be EDUCATIONAL in any way?

Wait, schools actualy use them?
And what's the problem with a little inexpensive mp3 player?
OK, WTF?
My laptop just randomly powered off again. Not a big deal, or a surprise - it's been doing that lately.
No, the WTF is that it can't find its ethernet drivers, or even the existence of its wifi card.
Which is odd, as I've been using both just fine for the past 3 years.
Reboot didn't help. Guess I'm gonna need to dig out the driver CD from when I first got it.

Kids convince the teachers and school boards that anything that isn't ipod is crap just so they can have something to play their music on and have it be cool, They wanna be mainstream like everyone else.
[editline]12th November 2011[/editline]
Also cause they can't sell a cheap mp3 player for more than $20 at a pawn shop but they can sell a $150 ipod to a pawn shop for about $90.
I just switched ISPs and I can't get their DNS to work. I guess Google DNS will have to do the trick for now but it's a little slow.
At least they gave me a nice bright orange crossover cable :v:
Remember kids, if rebooting doesn't fix a problem, try rebooting five times.
That managed to fix my "your ethernet card has no drivers and your wifi card doesn't exist" problem.

If i use the reset button on my PC, it no longer sees my SSD until i pull the power cord out :v:

If I lose Wifi connection in the Windows 8 Dev Preview on my laptop, I can no longer connect to any network until I reboot. And knowing my school's wifi network, that happens a lot.
Needless to say I went back to Windows 7. :v:
My old PC would randomly hang, and I would have to leave it's power plug out for 5 minutes to get it to boot again.
My cousin brought me her HTC Inspire to root, I feel so stupid because I can't figure it out even with Google.
You have enabled USB debugging havn't you?

Yeah, probably doesn't help I'm sleepy, I'm not thinking straight and I've been playing Skyrim all night so I'm thinking in that way still.
"Kill dragon, absorb soul, yell, go find other dragon, do mindless shit."

OK finally getting it to root, took longer on this than it did for my phone.
Watching TV, and saw this

How professional, it almost makes it look pirated :v:
A friend of mine was like this, where he's say some absolutely ridiculous things about his 8800GTX, like it was running crysis at 1920x1200 very high 8xMSAA at 100fps, and no matter what information I handed him he kept thinking it was.
In Metro 2033, a 5850 could never dream of pulling those numbers, even at like 1024x768 I bet. Besides, the 580 Xtreme edition is the only single GPU card that can run 1080p with MSAA over 30fps average.

Well it's rooted but it deleted everything, it didn't say it was going to. She's kind of sad now.

That's just windows. Why troubleshoot when you can restart until it works :v:

Did you flash a custom ROM?
[editline]12th November 2011[/editline]
I've never heard of a root wiping your apps.
Wish I could get the App store on it so I could get myself an alarm clock.
Isn't there a task scheduling thing built into OS X? Have it tell iTunes or VLC or whatever to start playing something at full blast whenever you need to wake up.

That actually works if you have a browser worth a shit - it will highlight all instances of "99" (though you may need to check a box first) and show a message. Actually rather clever in my opinion.

He had to flash a custom ROM, rooting never wipes apps.

People are amazed on how it works though, it's just a simple letter search.
