I only have 2.1 speakers, I don't know why it also displays the other audio jacks.

You have Realtek integrated sound? Mine does that too.
Is anyone else having their YouTube controls glitch out?

My dad finally agreed to go over 700 dollars for a new PC.
Somewhat decent gaming PC, here I come.

Master race. I switch between them as I want: Mostly I use the speakers (It adds something to the music when my desk vibrates to the beat, heh), but when I'm gaming or on Skype, I use headphones.
sadly my sound card only outputs to speakers when headphones aren't plugged in. So instead I get to pretty up my sound properties by doing this:

The problem with a 5.1 or a 7.1 sound system is putting the speakers in the right place. The rear speakers are difficult to place, depending on your room of course. I've seen people just place the rear speakers right next to the front speakers, which is a waste. Instead, you could have bought a similarly priced 2.1 system with better speakers, compared to 7 shitty speakers spread around the room.
Of course, headphones can be a lot better with sound positioning if your games support it. The Battlefield 3 beta sounded excellent on my inexpensive Koss KSC75 headphones, as an example.
In other news, Youtube's gone to fucking hell, again.
Can't stream 90% of videos.

Or you just read the manual

How hard can it be..
(Yes, the speakers dont need to be behind you. I have my setup like this and it sounds like behind)
Today, I did something productive.
I updated my blog.
I don't mean "lol i put a new post up", I mean I updated Wordpress to 3.2.1. I was on version 3.0 before.
i almost kinda feel like backing up all my stuff, wiping my HD, then re-installed windows XP for a while just for fun
i miss the days of my old dell from right around when XP came out, would be fun to dick around with a fresh slate. also i'd dual-boot it but i don't feel like partitioning what's left of my free space
That reminds me. I've been thinking of starting a blog, posting all the game ideas I have but don't have the time, manpower or licenses to make.
First, does that sound like something anyone would read?
Second, where's the best place to host? I'd host it myself, if I could afford to rent a server, but my budget is too tight for that. I checked wordpress.com, they seem fine, but I figured you guys would probably know better.

I rather like Lithium hosting, and I'm sure people would find that quite interesting.
My classmate have asked: "Where can I download free musics, my huge music folder got deleted?" on Facebook
30 comments, most of them say: "Use Youtubetomp3 it is the fastest and easiest way"

Just tell them to use Limewire and watch their confusion when it doesn't work :v:

I don't understand why Limewire got shut down, but other programs like uTorrent are allowed. They're essentially the same thing, except Limewire is full of bloatware.

It's something to do with how Limewire Corp. actually based their ads on piracy. uTorrent and BitTorrent in general try very hard to emphasize the legal uses of their software.
There may also have been something with how Limewire was somewhat centralized, and could tell exactly what people were downloading (and could thus theoretically block anything). BitTorrent doesn't do things that way.

because EVERYBODY knew about Limewire back then.
EVERYBODY.

Bittorrent is a protocol. You can't block a protocol like that.

Was referring to the specific client by that name, also now known as "Bittorrent Mainline".
Was referring to the specific client by that name, also now known as "Bittorrent Mainline".
Because the client and the company representing it aren't doing anything illegal unlike Limewire?
Because the client and the company representing it aren't doing anything illegal unlike Limewire?
Limewire Inc basically said "buy our program, steal ALL the music"
BitTorrent Corp just said "hey, here's our thing, you can use it for Linux distros and shit. And, although we really wish you wouldn't, you can pirate stuff too, I guess".
fucking hell
just took me about an hour to find all the appropriate XP drivers for the hardware in my computer. i mean come on, realtek, why do i have to fucking go through the weirdest websites to find your drivers

It's because you're looking for Windows XP drivers.
I got a quick question, so in my new build with 2x 580's the airflow is horrid but they won't go over 70C thank god.
But when I play games the display drivers crash, like the whole computer, first screen goes black then desktop with green and purple artifacts. I thought it was drivers first, but I have been swapping between 5 different drivers now, nothing is helping.

Try using one card at a time. One might be faulty.
Happends in TF2, mostly when I alt-tab out to check a video or something. But not limited to TF2, all games.

i was able to find XP drivers on manufacturer websites a lot of the time, but some were in ass-backwards places
also vista boot-loader is shitty, my monitor gave me a "no signal" message for like 5 seconds, then it automatically booted up vista without giving me a choice. damnit.
If it is a stereo headset it has absolutely no way of knowing whether the sound is infront or behind of you. There is no trick which will pull that data out of thin air. And any such trick would be defeated by not having your headphones on straight.
Virtualised surround sound is something that exists, is used and is praised. You don't pull the data out of thin air, the feeds the audio channels into the virtualiser or games feed positional information, as appropriate. There is an allowable error margin for not having the headphones on correctly for it to still sound alright. There are solutions that can produce a fairly accurate effect of differentiating between front and backwards as well as height.
