Yeah okay I'm not touching Arch with a 10 foot pole. It's far too confusing. [editline]13th July 2011[/editline] Gentoo, maybe? May as well try it.

If you're finding Arch hard, Gentoo is like trying to install Arch upside-down on a netbook with a ball mouse while being forced to sing "I'm too sexy" at gunpoint
just bring up the installation guide on your desktop

It's documentation seems more simple so I might actually have a shot here. :v: I've got more chance than Fatfatfatty, anyway. Herpaderp.
if you don't have any monitors that take vga or dvi then something is terribly wrong with said monitors
The cheaper model doesn't have any video output ports at all.
Can you dual boot arch and W7?
Can you dual boot arch and W7?
I'm pretty sure you can, I came across something of the sort while trying to comprehend the documentation. Probably not a good idea unless you've installed it before though. :v:
GC incoming After trying to get my iPod into DFU mode, I've realized that the home and lock buttons periodically get stuck down. Great.

BLUETOOTH, Y U NO WORK. I'm trying to connect my Wiimote to my computer using the standard Windows bluetooth driver, but it either disconnects it during the 5th fucking time it's installed drivers for the Wiimote, doesn't discover the Wiimote at all or throws up an error with the code '0x80004005'. So I hunted around for the driver with CD and popped it into my computer, which contains the brand-spanking new 2.63 version of BlueSoleil but it fails halfway through, which I guess is because I'm trying to install drivers that were made for 32-bit Windows XP on a machine running 64-bit Windows 7. And do you know what the most infuriating part is? It was working perfectly earlier. Seriously, I hate it when computers do stuff like this. They work fine then suddenly decide to go "LOL NOT TODAY HERP" and randomly stop working for no deducible reason.
Hm, Gentoo literally does nothing. Just stalls at the command line. Onwards, let us find more PPC Linux distros to waste CDs on. [editline]13th July 2011[/editline]
What would be a good first time distro then?
Ubuntu, Linux Mint, that one with the lizard in the logo that I forgot the name of...
The cheaper model doesn't have any video output ports at all.
How can a Z68 doesn't have any video output?
In my experiance, XT looked horrible on the retina screen, and is awfully buggy.
I did this: You can make it as visible or invisible as you want. There are also skins that you can use.
How can a Z68 doesn't have any video output?
Several Z68 boards I have seen do not have video ports. They still support all of the features of Z68, they just don't have onboard video ports.
That would be OpenSUSE. Don't you have a USB stick to use instead?
I do but something makes me doubt that a PowerBook G3 is gonna boot from one. While I'm here, I guess I'll ask: Any of you guys know of any good, simpleton-friendly PPC Linux Distros? Preferably one light on resources.
By the way Brandon, Arch isn't hard at all (infact, it's borderline self-explanatory). Getting to the installer is a case of just running /arch/setup, and it's a step-by-step process up until Configure System (just get the Beginner's Guide out at this point).

I just won't look at the documentation until then, then. It's just that what I read in parts of that guide put me off a little. Also all the Arch install horror stories that float around. I guess I may as well try it, I only have CD-Rs to lose!

A time where everyone wore TURTLENECKS, and people listened to music on BARS OF SOAP WITH SCREENS AND A SMALL TOUCH SENSITIVE WHEEL. I'm sorry, I lost my train of thought there.

Leach, does that mean I can spam you as well, because I'm putting arch on a secondary craptop.
