Actually, now that I think about it.
Does a 13 year old REALLY need SB-E? I mean, you have more power than NASA there.
Yep.
Dunno :v:
Well if it's just for games, there's no point.
SB-E was made to be top tier, top of the line, for servers, rendering machines, medical research, etc.
It is possibly the most overkill you can go for games.
What for?
Runescape, Habbo Hotel, Club Penguin etc etc :v:
Runescape, Habbo Hotel, Club Penguin etc etc :v:
"pfftt I run Club Penguin at 2367000 FPS on my new build."
Just go with an i5 2500K, or hold on for the new line-up.

He's getting the money in Feb, a month before IB. I'd say wait for Ivy.
Dunno :v:
you don't.
well I went for a i7 2600K
CM 680 II
GTX590
Buncha coolers, dust filters
Stuff
Seriously, don't take up this argumentation again. What I do with my money and what I buy is my decision :v:
And going to i5-2500k would be downgrade from my current i7-950 :v:
current i7-950 :v:
what

Actually, the 2500k outperforms the 950.
But still, there's no way you'll hit 100% on an SB-E just with casual use and that's just a waste.

Still a stupid decision. A i7-950 is plenty powerful enough for anything for at the very least another year.
Plus I assume it's your parents money that will be going towards this?
It's not like I've ordered the parts though and a lot of things can change until february/march.

I notice you still haven't explained where the money came from...

What's the point in making an entirely new build, then? You could hold onto that for a year more.

Hey, IB-E would probably be out by then.

Yeah?
Yeah?
IB-E is coming out Q4 2012.

Oh goddamnit.
So, I'm looking at getting a proper sound card soon, you know, a little PCI-E 1x SoundBlaster or something.
I then look at my board.

What a terrible PCI-E layout.
I'll have to put it all the way at the bottom of my case.
Office Depot is having problems, one of us couldn't load the site and my trainer just said it's because the person doesn't have enough memory.
Yesterday she said a CPU was a tower.
She is also taking Java programming classes.
She has 16GB RAM in her computer and seems to think that means she has the best PC ever.

This is someone super undercover.

whats wrong with putting it at the bottom
whats wrong with putting it at the bottom
My PC sites next to my desk, so I have to have about a meter and a half of length to the cord if it's down the bottom.
If you're 13, I'd say it's pretty good.
I was able to save up about $2000 at the age of 13, and only a small percentage of that sum came from my parents.

I think my headphones have a two-metre cord.
That actually relates to how I managed to break the front panel mic jack as well.
the distance difference is like ... i dont even know 10 cm

I sort of don't get your point?
What's the point in making an entirely new build, then? You could hold onto that for a year more.
Not doing an entirely new build :v:
the distance difference is like ... i dont even know 10 cm
If it was at the top, it would just reach.
I sort of don't get your point?
My point is simply not understanding why you guys think 1000 euros is a lot as most of you disagreed with me a few posts above.

So how did you get the money? Did you get a job?
