So, I'm at my internship, doing the typical Windows Update bullshit. Then the guys there go, hey man, we're about to become the main warehouse for parts for the franchise, and we don't have a database system, and none of us are software guys. So they ask me. The intern. Now, I'm thinking Debian+MySQL for the backend, but does anyone know anything user-friendly, browser-based thing for this? I'm thinking basic LAMP setup running this and they could access it via the browser, they'd really like it to be browser-based. Technically it doesn't actually have to be anything fancy, just, they open the site, the database pops up, they can search from the field part_id for something, it goes to the result of that in the database and they can see shelf_number etc., and then they can add new shit into the table.
It's only a school laptop, why do they need to be 'top of the class'? (sorry, just had to) Surely they'll be fine with some regular laptops (If not then maybe business class ones), and the little shits can take better care of their loaned laptops?
Depends on what the class do Me for example. I have courses where i'm demanded to run two VM's, I have courses for HD special effects and just general photshopping and similar On 2GB ram and an outdated intel dual core I'd love a apple laptop right now, At least they don't break as often as mine does
Or get off your ass and write something simple in PHP.
I have no PHP experience, it needs to look professional, it needs to be user-friendly and it needs to work. So yeah, it can't just be a scribble I wrote during the bloody weekend.

If you can create a proper layout, i'll help you with the PHP part.

Incredibly simple it won't take you 2 hours to finish.
ITT People who don't take into consideration unaccounted work and problems.
If you REALLY want it simple, just shove up SQLbuddy and give them all accounts with permissions.
I'll try to strangle a must-have feature list out of them tomorrow, I'll think more about it after that.

Glorious 8600M GT master race. 720p BC2 all day erryday. I wonder how the 8600M compares to the 9400M?

I played it on the lowest settings at like 15 FPS, but I still played through the singleplayer anyway.

Still I got something like 45 fps so it was totally worth it,
[t]http://img695.imageshack.us/img695/4843/pmgc1.jpg[/t] IBM MDA adaptor master race.
Hvae you considered getting an adapter for that slot? Could be fun putting it in a new computer. Or is that even possible?
It was awful, the screen was 1680 by 1050. By the way, whenever I play any game, I will get these FPS lag spikes for around a minute to ten minutes. However, this doesn't occur in multiplayer, so I have no idea what the problem is. [editline]23rd November 2011[/editline] Forgot to mention, it may be something wrong with the cooling. My ceiling fan stopped working not too long ago making the room hot.
Hvae you considered getting an adapter for that slot? Could be fun putting it in a new computer. Or is that even possible?
Well, the actual interface is ISA. There are very few modern computers that have any of those, and I don't know if adapters to PCI or PCIe exist. The video-out is also not compatible with modern computers, but (from what I can tell) it should be possible to adapt it to VGA.

[editline]23rd November 2011[/editline]
Been getting bluescreens today while playing BF3, so I go into Bios and see this. I don't remember it looking like this and my overclock went from 4.7 to 4.5 magically. Also, What's a good 1155 cpu cooler for overclocking? I feel like replacing my 212+ since I have the money to at the moment. [editline]19th November 2011[/editline] I'm completely blanking if I need to change anything.
Can anyone find something wrong with this? I was looking at it again this morning and something looks off but I can't put my finger on it.

Wouldn't an ISA to PCI do the trick?
Another thing I forgot to mention- My GPU, according to HWMonitor gets up to 117c. CPU gets up to 70c, if I am doing some intensive stuff.
