I shouldn't post this late, sorry
Hey, anyone here have experience in netbooks? Would there happen to be any decent netbook that costs up to 200€ and has a rather long battery life?
The HP dm1z looks fairly nice on paper. I helped my grandmother buy a laptop a few months ago, we settled on some Toshiba with the same AMD E350 chipset, which is fairly quick and power efficient. The GPU isn't that bad either.
I'm pretty sure we agreed you cant 'crack' HTTPS to see if it's HTTP or SSH
I'm no expert, though I see that HTTPS works flawlessly and SSH never connects. PuTTY doesn't say "Hey bro, shit's fucked" and closes the window after a few seconds, it just sits there. Somehow, the filter is disrupting that connection somewhere along the line.
So my mom made a boo-boo and bought two little 19 inch ASUS monitors on black friday. She thought I'd want the other one but it's useless because they're both VGA only (the other one is for my sister, for whom I'm gonna build a computer soon for Xmas)
She doesn't wanna return it ('too much trouble') but we cannot find a way to use it, as almost nothing in this house has VGA out except my laptop, her laptop, and a couple computers I have lying around in my room
So does anyone know of a way to convert from 1) an HDMI output to VGA input on the monitor (I know you can't just do it with a cable, I'm asking for an adapter or something) or 2) from component/RCA/composite (I forget which is which) out to VGA in for under $50?
what videocard (or whatever model laptop) are you using? And what ports does it have?
what videocard (or whatever model laptop) are you using? And what ports does it have?
Not using a PC..My mom has a Bluray player/reciever thing that she intends to keep using..

now, how do i know what sockets to put my ram in? it's ddr3 but i'm not great with tables (looking at quick install guide)
oh i think i got it, it says the ddr3_a2 and ddr3_b2 aren't populated and you have to install in opposite letter sockets

oh fuck oh fuck oh fuck the ram is not going in right, i'm pushing with a little force and the notches won't snap back
[editline]1st December 2011[/editline]
yeah they are i'm so worried omg
They take more force than you think they would at first.
okay they fit in finally but i hope i didn't damage anything because i pushed a little and one thing popped in but i had the notch on the wrong side
like not the force it took to push it in finally but with just a little, i guess its okay if it fin in correctly

SATA 3 cables are 100% retro-compatible :v:
Also push on that 24 pin connector, just make sure you don't bend the motherboard while doing it.
