Wasn't there like, IE4 for Linux years ago?
Wasn't there like, IE4 for Linux years ago?
It was IE4 and IE5, but only on Solaris and HP-UX (and only on SPARC, SPARC64, and PA-RISC, not i386). So they cannot be run on x86 Linux, to my knowledge.

Other than the fact that it's late as hell, I'm quite sure the original owner purposely used an unrecoverable broken card to troll /g/
So I'm working on my schools yearbook this year, and some kids wanted to use QR codes. I have those done, and linking to pages on our part of the schools website. Now, I need to embed videos. I can insert snippets of html code into the webpage, but I need help getting it to work on all devices. How would I do this, or what codec/player do I need to use?
Flash? ogg?
Figured this was the best place to post this, if I'm wrong, just disregard me, please:
I'm looking for a new graphics card, under $120 (and preferably from Newegg or Amazon ('Murrica, of course)). Current specs:

Thing is, I have a 460 watt power supply (AcBel PC9004), and being out of the hardware loop for a good while, I've no idea whether or not that's sufficient to power a newer card. Am I out of luck (unless/until I get a new power supply), or is there some sort of upgrade I can make that won't require anything else?
Any advice is appreciated. Again, apologies if this is the wrong place to post this; it certainly doesn't deserve its own thread, and Quick Questions is, from what it looks like, not the place to ask about hardware upgrades.

you're not gonna get a considerable upgrade from that for $120. maybe a 6770 at best but that's not gonna be much more than a 3 FPS difference in most games

an open source video format, works on just about anything
an open source video format, works on just about anything
Would the standard HTML5 video player work for that?
it can and will work for that.
it can and will work for that.
Thanks. Testing time!
Can you not upload it to Youtube? It should work for most devices.
This may sound dumb, but can PCI Express video card 2.1x16 fit in a 2.0x16 slot?

I'm 99.99% sure. The only difference between PCIe 2.0 and 2.1 is that 2.1 adds a lot of the power management features that 3.0 will add, without changing the speed. Since PCIe is pretty much fully backward- and even forward-compatible, I highly doubt anything physical would've changed between the two versions you mentioned.
is there really nobody else who is capable of soldering surface mount devices? the only thing I've never been able to do is BGA arrays

I'm obviously not talking like SMD microcontrollers, but resistors and the like are pretty easy

Thanks! I flipped a shit when I saw my motherboard only supported 2.0 and my card was 2.1.

PCIe is usually pretty compatible. Usually, the worst that happens is it runs at the speed and features of the lowest part. Which is actually what's supposed to happen.
There can, theoretically be parts that work poorly with something or other, and while it's probably happened at least once, I've never heard of it actually occurring.
Is there noticeable input lag from a wireless keyboard? I have a mechanical now but I've started streaming so I plan on getting a cheap and cheerful chiclet Xenta.

none really, you might notice it playing racing sims and the like but if you're playing those you shouldn't really be using a keyboard anyway.
I have a wheel for that, and fantastic thanks.
Unsure on whether to get the Xenta or a Logitech K360 though, Xenta is three times less.
Logitech keyboards have a really nice matrix but I don't think that's gonna really matter too much to you unless you plan on pressing every key at the same time and hoping for it to work.
Facepunch, my new build BSOD a little while ago and it just froze in this game and I had to restart. I couldn't move my mouse and it just kept repeating a sound that a CT made. I'm worried.

game could have segfaulted maybe, seems unlikely seeing how much development goes into most games but still possible.
Me: My mouse is almost dead, need to charge it
CS1: What mouse do you have?
Me: MX Revolution. I can get a decent charge for like 3 minutes of charging time
CS1: I find the fact that you have a 90 dollar mouse that isn't a Razer mouse amusing.
It's recently built. I didn't expect that to happen so quickly.
