Yes yes I can.
As I know I've said earlier in this thread, I wont just use it for gaming (if I would, I'd just get an i5-2500k).
I will justify it with a growing interest for 3D modelling / animation and video editing and filming.
Besides, I have no expenses and can quickly get this amount of money within a year again.
Everyone happy now?
You're 13, and I've heard that thing so many times. You aren't going to be making professional movies on that thing, really. Wait a few months and a better CPU for half the price, you really, really, fucking only buy something like that if you need the motherfucking power right fucking now. You're entitled to do whatever you want to do with your money, but we also have the right to say what you're doing is fucking retarded.
[editline]19th December 2011[/editline]
Also, if you're getting "interested" in filming, why not spend the money on a camera that can actually take some good footage? Sure, you might be able to edit the shit faster with SB-E, but your footage will still suck ass. If you're getting serious about something, you get the right equipment.
I edited and rendered hours of footage on a 2.6GHz single core Celeron just up until the start of 2010.
Granted, it was SD footage, but it still took like 4-5 hours to render a 50 minute MPEG2 file.

I render 3D animation and other videos on an E3300.
I'm sure you could edit videos on a netbook if you wanted to :v:
[editline]19th December 2011[/editline]
I also know a guy who used a crappy Alienware laptop with a dual core pentium to edit 1080p videos from his DSLR. The poor thing couldn't even play without skipping frames.

Sorry if I started a flamewar / argument war (you guys against me)
I have some options to do if I don't want to buy this mobo + cpu.
One of them is to get another 570 for SLI. This would be a bad one since my current mobo (Sabertooth X58) doesn't have the design to support two 3-slot cards.
Another option would be to buy a new screen or two, but since I did this recently there's no need atm.
Third option would be a raid storage setup but since HDD's are really high priced right now, I've put it to second on my list of stuff to buy.
I don't want anything else either and I don't want any new games. I have the money for it by march/april and I don't see why not? Provide me with a reason other than that I wont use the power (I probably will) and I might consider something else.
[editline]19th December 2011[/editline]
I am aware that "upgrading" to an i7-2600K would give me more cpu power than my current i7-950, but the X58 chipset is more powerful than any of the sandybridge ones so that's a no-go for me.
I am open for corrections here :v:

If you're going to have the money by march/april, go for IB. Except wait for Z77 seeing as chipsets are oh so important to you and the only real advantage X58 has is Tri-Channel memory. Which makes a difference, someone like you will not notice or use. I don't even see why you need to upgrade from your i7 950 in the first place, just get another X58 board and another 570 ffs.
How?
The thing is that when I make an order, and my receipt says I ordered the 10-pack of SSDs. I expect to either a) get a ten pack of SSDs or b) be told their was a pricing error on the site and that the order can't go through and if you want the item you can buy it at the now correct price.
You can't ship just one, shipping a single drive would be sending an item with a different SKU which is not what a person ordered. So no you can't just ship one and be done with it, because from the description 1 is a box of 10. You can't be sued for false advertisement you can be sued for receiving the wrong goods, or you call your card holder and request the order be invalidated because the order you made was not fullfilled, same thing as when you order something from ebay and you receive something different and the seller doesn't cooperate.
They still haven't corrected the price after 5-days, their is negligence on their part.
lol, this happens every time there's a text error on a website, there's always at least one retard saying it's illegal
and if you're complaining about the SKU: search the MFR number and guess what??????????? its for one drive

I edited on a Amd Athlon Xp 2800+ years ago, then an AMD Athlon 64 3000+
Don't give me shit. I know the ranges of performance.
Why do you guys care so much if he want to blantantly waste his own money on stupid pointless upgrades?
Because we are all poor and hate to see money get wasted.

Why would you be interested in video software? And maybe more importantly, why would you need SB-E to edit a 480x640 video? That's so terribly redundant, and I think you're really just trying to justify it to yourself. Look, just stop up and try to think about it for just a second:
You're buying pro-fucking-fessional grade hardware. You're 13. Why?
With what you've got, wait at least a few months. You might want to build it now, but you're gonna get both a better build, and a better reputation 'round here (even though it's just a forum, I have an idea of that you've taken a liking to it), if you wait. For christ' sake, you're pretty much buying just before the hardware refresh. That is - without trying to flame you, really - really goddamn stupid.

I want the best for him, though in this case, it's probably his parent's money I'm trying to save.
The most professional youtuber I know, "still" uses a 980x and unlike you, he knows what he is doing.

Do you have a job as a editor/modeler/etc? I doubt it.

What do you work with? If so, I'm not really gonna give that much of a shit, but my post still applies.

I just wanted to say that. Again. Isn't Ivy Bridge going to be released in a few months anyway?

Let's make a deal. You won't whine about me buying the upgrade and I won't brag about it in here. Fine?
Why you are you even bothering with a new processor if you have an i7 950? Just get a decent video card and wait.
Provide a screenshot with you doing something that maxes out your CPU, dije
Minecraft? :v:

Dije.
I, like you, am thirteen and want to learn animation and modelling and all that jazz.
I'm using an E3300 and HD 5450, and you know what? They do the job just fine. You hardly need a powerhouse. Sure, things might take longer, but you probably still have far better specs than me.
You, most likely, don't need an upgrade.
And damn Ebuyer are good, couple of keys on my keyboard weren't working so I sent in a replacement form and within 5 minute they approved it, don't even have to send my faulty one back.
Good shit.

They even threw in a mug that has a keyboard layout on the side for free for inconvenience, and next day shipping.
FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK
I'm in a "Website Management" class, which is basically "How to Use IIS".
So we've got a lot of stuff running:
Windows 7 (on actual machine)
IE (same)
VMWare Workstation
Windows Server 2008 (inside VM)
IIS 7.0 with all plugins including SharePoint, Visual Studio, and Office (also inside VM)
Sounds tolerable so far. Sure, Sharepoint is retarded, and it's majorly Microsoft-biased (MS is literally paying the school for it), but it's not like IIS is useless.
Here's the problem: It's all running on a Pentium 4 HT with 2GB of RAM
I left Task Manager running while doing my work. It's honestly the most load I've seen on a computer since my Celeron fifteen years ago (you could 100% that thing by waving the mouse fast enough).
So yeah, I'm going to bring my laptop in every day. I figure then I'll at least be able to get something done while waiting for it to finish doing whatever.
Sorry, you need to Log In to post a reply to this thread.
