Do any of you guys have The Ship on Steam?
I do. It's kind of fun but it sucks that nobody plays it.
CRTs are superior to LCDs. I still use mine over the LCD monitors I've got.
not everyone can use CRTs, like me for example because the almost inaudible whine that comes from them kills my fucking ears So... not really superior, and if you drop one on your foot you can expect to be off your feet for a few weeks.

Enough with this CRT vs LCD bullshit. Let people use what they fucking want.

Why vista? [editline]21st December 2011[/editline] @MC3craze
Why vista? [editline]21st December 2011[/editline] @MC3craze
Because I used an old hard drive. Free OS as far as I'm concerned. [editline]21st December 2011[/editline] At some point I'll probably pick up an ivy bridge over the 2500k
Don't forget to install your motherboard drivers
Already did.

Its old TVs that have most of the whine, NTSC content means its 15.734 kHz switching frequency. There are two ways to deal with it, 1) use a higher resolution, 2) use a higher refreshrate. I do both on mine, 1600x1200@100hz is perfect on my screen, 19.5" visible 21" tube. So it has teh same pixel density as my 21.5" 1920x1080 U2211h. The CRT is nice for fast paced games, Tribes Ascend beta is far better on it then my LCD. LED TVs are just LCD backlit by LEDs, unless they did it the good way; non-edge lit; then you don't have the crazy good contrast they say it has. Dynamic contrast is bullshit.
Almost nobody plays Tribes Ascend, as far as I'm concerned. That's a real lame excuse to use a CRT.
I would expect few people to play it seeing as its still closed beta, unless you are thinking about Tribes 2. I like my CRT, the higher refresh rate is nice in games. I prefer my CRT in basically any game where my view changes quickly, so basically everything but RTS and turn based. Why do I need an excuse to use/own my CRT, I only paid $25 for it. I am tempted to get a 120hz LCD, but they aren't better then a CRT yet so I'll wait till 120hz IPS come out.

The steam sales strike again!
I have accidentally lost my PayPal password (randomly generated) and paypal's password reset page is impossible to answer (old credit card I don't have anymore, some question I don't know the answer to) Today's sales are my Punishment for being so lazy and not saving passwords manually Paypal customer support is not answering
is the 590/590 really at "EOL"? is it worth waiting for new Ivy Bridge and new GPU series, or should I buy now? I am dieing for an awesome PC
gtx 590 were never and are never worth it
gtx 590 were never and are never worth it
but im too poor for double 580's and I don't want only one 580
Everyone that has the money for a 590 (And the use), should just get 2x 580's. [editline]21st December 2011[/editline] Also, im pretty sure 570 SLI outperforms a single 590..
