I highly doubt that a key for a 64bit copy of Windows 7 would work on a 32bit install.
If it did, I'd try and just use that, but... bah.
Aren't they keys 'bound' to which edition you have, rather than 32/64 bit?
I have a Windows 7 Home Premium upgrade around, if I remember correctly, it has both a 32-bit and 64-bit disc. I could be wrong though.
If so, then I think it would work for me.
What is with all these bug-eyed avatars
Mod avatar fad.
Also, found my paper with legitimately obtained Windows 7 serials. Victory.
Figures, Mods get all the fun
So my temps when playing Bad Company 2 was 65 Celsius with the fans at 86%. Is this too hot for a GTS 250?

I only played for 5 minutes by the way

graphics cards run a lot hotter than cpus (e.g. 80 degrees ceiling iirc) so that's pretty good

Weird, they started working for me.

Augh. I'm trying to find some touchpad utilities for my netbook, but I can't figure out what the vendor is for it, the touchpad that is.
ALPS, Synaptics, or ELANTECH. My money is on Synaptics, but I'm not 100% sure.

It's Synaptic. That's what came with it...
So I just drilled some holes in the plate holding my motherboard to let the 1155 heat sink pins go through easier. It took over twenty minutes to drill through all four holes with a metal drill, while I was suspending my whole weight on the drill.
I trust my chassi to protect me if I ever get into a shootout.
[editline]18th July 2011[/editline]
Really, there's three plates of that stuff, it could probably shatter and totally stop a 9mm.

What case?
Okay strange error. I just reinstalled windows on my laptop. Windows 7 to be exact.
It never asked me for an activation key during set up. I didn't think anything of it, because you can usually do it within windows.
So I go to download microsoft stuff and it says it isn't a valid copy of windows. Then I realize I haven't put my activate code in.
There is no where to put my activation code in.
I have gone to the system page where it usually is and it isn't listed anywhere.
I then searched for "Activate Windows" and clicked the program itself. It says it isn't found.
Does anyone have any ideas as how to fix this? I have two legit serial keys that are printed on the cases for my windows 7 CDs... Uggh.
Apparently slui.exe is missing?

That step was already completed. That is another way of accessing the system page. I guess I will try and reinstall later, I need to get to work.
What case?
No idea, got it from a friend when I bought the parts inside it for a server.
I just got me a second monitor. Salvaged it from my sister's old PC. This one. Lovely little monitor.
Question:
My Windows 7 install is old as shit.
So I'm planning on a reinstall because it takes ages to start up among other reasons.
Installing all that is easy as hell but...
I have an .iso here from school it won't install sp1 though and normally I'd have to use windows update to get it.
Problem:
I've run out of download limit for my broad band (stupid Canada/steam sale) for this month so I have to use my shitty 3g connection for everything. However my school has incredible speeds with fiber and all that.
I've found this http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=5842
I'm just unsure if I can just install Windows then run the .iso from that site to get sp1 without running like 90 updates first or if it's a waste of time.
OTHER THINGS SALVAGED FROM THE BROKEN PC:
2x 128mb PC-133 RAM
1x Atheros PCI WLAN card
1x nVidia Vanta/Vanta MX 16mb Video Card
Oh joy, I just woke up today to find my dad downgraded our internet package
"not that bad" you might say, "it's still a 512 kbit/s connection, some people have it worse!"
The problems isn't here, it's the fucking data cap that comes with it : 1 GB.
He paid 75$ to break the contract, downgrade the connection and will have to deal with me going over the data cap in a single day just so he can prove his point.
One fucking GB?
I bet there are SINGLE Youtube videos that are bigger than that

What was the point he wanted to prove?

That he's apparently an extreme cunt.
I have 60 and I'm like 8 gbs away it resets on the 21st. I have unlimited on my iPhone though so I just tether it up going to be really fun when this Cadiaian phone provider realizes they can charge for it separately. I'll have to find that app that translates tethering to normal data usage.

That, and he says I'm spending too much time on the computer, that's kinda right.
I mean, it's not like I'm going to study that next year dad, I absolutely don't need any decent Internet access when I want to make it my career :downs:

I'm glad my step dad is accepting of my love of computers.
NOW IF ONLY THAT BASTARD WOULD LET ME BE THE ADMIN OF OUR NETWORK. WEP?! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! I CAN CRACK THAT FROM MY PHONE!
