Cheapest SSDs on Newegg are the 30GB Agility or the 32GB Onyx, both for $50. 30GB is enough for most modern games. In fact, it's enough for several modern games - you could do something like the old Super Mario All-Stars cartridge and put the entire Half-Life series or the entire Mass Effect saga on one drive. If you need more space, a 40GB drive is $70-90.
Or just put all your shit on one drive and skip all the shutting down and rebooting to change disks. [editline]27th December 2011[/editline] Oh wait, SATA is hot-swapable. [editline]27th December 2011[/editline] Damn it, I want to do this now. I got a plan and everything. Most likely I'll use on of my drive bays and mount SATA power and data together and add guiderails.

Forgot to tell you guys about how I became content. Simple mistake, but whatever. I was really impressed with my 500R case, loving it a lot while building it, but I noticed it didn't have an SSD mount for it. I was really confused because reviews said SSDs could be mounted on it easily, so I just assumed they forgot. I drove over to frys, waited in line for 20 minutes, and came home with some 2.5 inch to 3.5 inch mounting brackets. I then discover that they are too big to fit the mounting bracket. Wasted $5. I then look a bit closer at the mounting bracket, and there were four holes that aligned perfectly with a 2.5 inch drive's screw holes. Apparently I could have screwed the SSD in the entire time. Zscreen popped up with its control panel every hour or so before the reformat and got really annoying, so I'm reluctant to install it again.
General content: Why is it that people, when trying to how much FPS they have to something else, open up FRAPS and look at the framerate counter and just guess how many frames they're getting instead of using the built in benchmark utility that gives you precise and accurate frame counts?
Fuck it, new page.

Easy.
Because fraps is accurate and doesnt require you to find the console command or whatever for each game. Easy.
Fraps has an accurate benchmark utility. Instead of looking at two pictures and saying, "OH I GUESS ITS A DIFFERENCE OF ABOUT 30 FRAMES, GIVE OR TAKE," they could press Fraps' benchmark hotkey and get readings like this: What I'm wondering is: Why do people rely on guesswork when they have the tools to give precise and accurate readings in the same program?
Got my chrimbo present hooked up [thumb]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1164025/telly.jpg[/thumb] It's really fucking neat what they can do with TV's nowadays, this thing has the usual stuff like internet connectivity for iPlayer and all that bullshit as well as USB-HDD recording (infact it's recording The Simpsons now just to try it out) and DLNA video streaming from my NAS (awesome for movies). Going to drill some more holes tomorrow for power and network (which are the cables you can see) and then it'll look awesome Oh yeah and you can control the menus and use the keyboard and shit from your phone or PC which is even more awesome

I had a friend that did just read of the counter and guess untill i showed him the bench function. he just didn't know and had never really looked for it
I believe I've posted about the YouTube Comment Quality Improver script a few times here. Well, I've finally made the change I wanted to make: you can now whitelist uploaders! My version is here: http://pastebin.com/17cGkxX6 I PM'ed the original script author with my changes so I hope he adds my changes to the original script too. Until then, you can save the raw paste data from pastebin to a file with .user.js as extension, and open that in Firefox.
Ordered a 2500k, Asus P8Z68-V and a 8GB kit of Corsair Vengeance 1600mhz RAM to be delivered to a nearby friends house so that I can pick it up on the way home from the airport. Can't wait to play games that I've been unable to play at a stable framerate for a while (Deus Ex, BF3, Crysis 2 among others) :v:
Good idea, But i can't remember a singe instance when i'v recognized a commenter from another video i'v watched
With "whitelist uploaders", I mean it does not replace the comments on videos uploaded by that person. It doesn't (yet?) whitelist individual comments.
Oh i see, Misunderstanding on my part

I called Valve one day (Mark Richardson to be exact) and he said they've been messing around with putting Steam on some of the TVs that have the Atom processor already. I think I've seen an article on it, as well.

Good god setting up media server software is a fucking nightmare: MediaTomb won't transcode properly, PS3MediaServer won't transcode properly (and I've spent a good 3 hours on each of them and they just won't transcode movies properly or at all), and uShare segfaults. Is there an easy way out?

I want the fucking Raspberry Pi. I got this micro-laptop concept.
Whatever GPU he uses, I want it And the jet motor sized fan cooling it
Some intel integrated shit. And a tiny chipset heatsink. [editline]27th December 2011[/editline] At 640x480.
Whatever GPU he uses, I want it And the jet motor sized fan cooling it
The TV might support it, he could be running it at a much smaller res.
Nero MediaHome works fine for me. There's sometimes multiple versions of the same script on userscripts.org - which is why I PM'ed the original author first. Of course, if he's dead or whatever, I'll upload it myself later.
