No. Answer my question.
It's the exact motherboard I got for Christmas. So far so good, and it's awesome. Get it.
No. Answer my question.
I like it, and personally use it.
Then I shall order it. Soon.
IMO portable gaming devices died ever since phones has taken over
But I love my PSP. My phone can't deliver such tactile feedback like it. Touch screen feedback is just 'bluh' because the feel of sliding your finger on plastic or glass is sketchy. Last reason I don't like phones either due to the simple fact that they can't run my favorite game: (Real game put next to it so no warez conflicts are added) Accelerometer gaming is a huge gyp anyways.
I think the argument is that when you're out of the house generally you're doing something and don't have time for games, the small time you may have (small commute, waiting etc) can be filled with smartphone usage. I can see where a handheld would come in handy but at times where I have 20-30 minutes of nothing to do I'd rather read the latest news or talk to a friend, gaming I reserve for home when I can do it comfortably.
Netbook master race, who doesn't have time for a little GTA:VC on the bus.
Go with ASUS instead. I bought a ASRock and it only lasted a year before the audio went dead and then networking and finally the board died. Bad build quality.
ASRock is ASUS dummy.
Specs of Intel's new system-on-a-chip got leaked. 1.6GHz x86 CPU with 1GB of DDR2, WiFi, Bluetooth and FM and an unknown GPU. That's the tablet version, the smartphone version is the same except clocked down, according to hearsay. It hands ARM's ass to Samsung, Qualcomm and Nvidia in benchmarks and it matches ARM in power consumption, with idle TDP at 2 watts and load around 3. Article and shit on Slashdot, as you might have guessed.
Pepper;33928169']ASRock is ASUS dummy.
Its a separate entity owned by a subsidiary of ASUSTek. That does not suddenly make ASRock rebranded ASUS motherboards. Cheaper, usually means worse build quality and components, which directly affect lifetime.

If its true watch intel based smartphones cost 50 percent more
Only single-core? Surprising. Also, it seems that it beats the Tegra 2 in benchmarks. Interesting...
Because intel.

I used ASrock in my AMD build, its still going after 3 years.

Starts off with one core and will eventually evolve into dual cores. [editline]27th December 2011[/editline]
why don't we just use VIA chips?
Because it's not intel
Hey, anybody know of a good text editor for OS X? TextEdit is kind of shit (not nearly as bad as Notepad, though), and my normal editor, Notepad++, is Windows-only.
why don't we just use VIA chips?
Old processes. VIA is still on 40nm (according to Wikipedia, which seems a bit out-of-date on the subject). For comparison, AMD is on 32nm, and Intel is transitioning from 32nm to 22nm. That means VIA will have bigger transistors that take more power. Most of their processors still have a 5+ watt TDP, which is more than a cell phone can take. They also don't have integrated memory or comms. [editline]27th December 2011[/editline]
Sublime Text
Looks good, but it apparently requires OS 10.6, and I'm using 10.5.8 (and not going to spend $30 to upgrade)
Is there any particular reason most tablets in the market use smartphone chips? Sure you've got the huge battery and the screen also takes a good ammount of space, but the Transformer prime is the only tablet I've seen so far that has a quad-core processor instead of a tegra 2/another dual core 1.0/1.2ghz chip. Talking about the high-end ones here too.

My ASRock P67 Extreme6 is very nice, has plenty of options for overclocking; basically same UEFI as ASUS; backpanel CMOS reset, plenty of internal connectors, its a nice board to work with.

Also, just want to mention that Via has a quad core processor out now. it's about as powerful as an original Phenom II X4 but only has a 25w TDP
