I suggest 'ripple300o' and hopefully the wrong user gets perma'd :v:
[del]First person who adds me on Steam will get my World of Tanks thing I got with my mouse.[/del]
Gave it away already.
So, some days ago I was helping my friend fit in the Hyper TX3 CPU cooler I bought him as a christmas present to replace his horrible AMD stock fan.
The pre-applied thermal paste on the stock fan is like superglue, it pulled the CPU out of its LOCKED socket somehow, and we had to pry it off with a screwdriver.
Here's an image of the CPU still being stuck:

Luckily, nothing was damaged.
You can avoid that by running the computer for a little bit before trying to take off the cooler. It makes the paste warm up and then it becomes a little thinner and less of a suction force is applied during the removal. Had that happen to me too.
Do some stress tests, it heats it up, and turn it off and pull it off quickly (twisting it A LOT)
I think my motherboard temperature sensor is faulty. A few minutes ago it read 20 degrees celcius. The room temperature is 21 degrees.
Apparently my i5 fluctuates by about 10 degrees on idling temperature. Because I was watching Top Gear earlier and it was at ~33, but now it's at 44 and I'm doing the exact same thing. Also, in Battlefield 3, the temperature is the same as it is now, when not playing. What explains all of this!?
Global warming
My friend had bought some really cheap motherboard and that happened to him too, but not because of the paste, but because the locking mechanism for the CPU was DOA. :v:

Fan throttling? Also my chipset is usually about 23C.

Just checked by closing Facepunch, it's using 23% of the CPU according to task manager. Battlelog, comparatively, is using 2%. Compwhizzi's revenge is at hand.

Motherboard thing still stands though, that doesn't make any sense.
God the G500 is an amazing mouse.
I reinstalled skyrim and wow it plays smooth all of a sudden. I should have checked some of the trouble spots but with the built in vsync un-disabled it was smooth at 60fps for a really long time at 2560x1440 with 8xAA all ultra.
I'm doing a video comparison with vanilla and the new acceleration mod, then using it with modified ini and stuff.

in my language we refer to this as 'enabled'
Anyone know a place where i could resell the PS Elements 8 key i got? Not planning on using the software.

The smoothscrolling is incredible. The only thing I didn't really like about the G500 is that the laser is right at the front, which took me a while to get used to.
So, I'm once again thinking of starting a blog, and (once again) the main obstacle is the name.
How does "The Ideas Guy" sound?
in my language we refer to this as 'enabled'
Except, it's forced on by default in the game, which is why I specifically said it like that. I didn't disable it with ini tweaks.
Enabled would make it seem like I turned it on.

Took me like three minutes.

Too unoriginal
How about "gman003's blog"?
Too unoriginal
Guess so.
How about "gman003's blog"?
Even less original.
How's my backup idea, "Game/On"? It's actually from a series of articles I wrote years and years ago, with the intent of publishing them as a blog (I scrapped the idea when I realized they were kind of crap). It was both a reference to the "Game on!" phrase, as well as to each article's title - they were all "On ___", eg. "On Quick-Time Events" or "On Enemies". I probably wouldn't keep that title theme, but the title's a bit better, right?

Just call it gman003's blog as a placeholder.
Don't limit yourself to one thing unless you WANT to. Do you want to only be able to blog about games or would you like to have the occasional "WTF IS WRONG WITH MY BOSS/MOM/GIRL FRIEND?!" type of post? I went with Tech/Life so that I could have both technology posts and life posts. It allows me room to breathe when I'm writing, instead of being stuck trying to find things to talk about.
Welp.
My Antec 620 is popping/bubbling.
Looks like I'll be getting a new cooler from Frys or Microcenter tomorrow.
Any suggestions?

And now my desk vibrating because of it.
Repost.

Goddammit man.
How come all the performance shit gets fixed for you.
Send me all the mods and ini's and shit that you're using. I'm sick of not being able to play the fucking game.

You looking for sub-zero, sub-$30 or sub-sonic?

what
what
Which would you prefer:
Best possible cooling, budget or quietest.
He said he doesn't know what the word budget means to me.
So probably both of the others.

Cooling I guess. I'd like to keep my 4.7GHz overclock on my 2500k.
