I got it for $20 since I have credit at both stores for $50. And according to a few reviews I've seen the V6GT is somewhere between the Frio (which is way louder) and the NH-D14. [editline]1st January 2012[/editline] And right now I have the fans running at 55% by using SpeedFan but they're still kind of loud and not pushing much air. Manages to keep a 4.5 OC at 32 idle and 53 load though.
don't expect the same performance with quieter fans though the v6gt and frio are in the "throw air at the problem until it goes away" category of cooler, it will be designed with higher airflow in mind, e.g. higher fin density quieter, lower RPM fans won't be able to push air through it as well
So then I should just return it? What should I get instead then? I'm stuck with Microcenter and Frys since with out it I have no cpu cooler.
Alright, server specs: CPU: Core i3 Memory: 4GB (2x2) Dual Channel Storage: 500GB HDD
Alright, server specs: CPU: Core i3 Memory: 4GB (2x2) Dual Channel Storage: 500GB HDD
heh I bet it's not even quad core like min heh noob

Also, I just moved my desk to the other side of the room, just for something new. Feels great.
Also, I just moved my desk to the other side of the room, just for something new. Feels great.
I just keep mine straight under the window (i live on the attic)
My computer has a fan on the left side of the case and up until now it was blocked :v:
Apparently not, I think they follow you for a week then unfollow you to get attention [editline]2nd January 2012[/editline] Step 1: "Hey this LED strip I pulled from an ipod would make a great case light!" Step 2: "WHY ARE YOU SO FUCKING TINY" Step 3: "I'll fuck with it when I can solder properly"
Those soldering pads are massive comparing to some of the other ones i've worked with
YESS deathrune got a 1 month ban and is on his last chance
YESS deathrune got a 1 month ban and is on his last chance
Now comes the critical question: "Who?"
Now comes the critical question: "Who?"
who what
Now comes the critical question: "Who?"
A retarded fuck of a troll.
who what
Who the hell is deathrune?

Oh wow. Glad for that ban.
Getting exact same temps except 59c at load (at 4.5ghz aswell, little bit worried), what cpu fan you using?
Cooler Master V6GT
Alright, server specs: CPU: Core i3 Memory: 4GB (2x2) Dual Channel Storage: 500GB HDD
what are you running off this server
what are you running off this server
Files and shit. Games too.
Files and shit. Games too.
I have found that running games from a network drive sometimes can be buggy and weird. I tried it with GTA IV and then it, for some reason, couldn't connect to the internet anymore. [editline]2nd January 2012[/editline] Also, is the GTX 570 a good card for the money? I'm building a computer for a friend and I think this would be perfect. He has never really had a proper computer, and he has a pretty good income and stuff.
Alright, server specs: CPU: Core i3 Memory: 4GB (2x2) Dual Channel Storage: 500GB HDD
Well my server has 2 Xeon E5507's... 256MB of RAM and 20GB of Drive Space. I kinda win. (It's a VPS if you didn't get it) [editline]2nd January 2012[/editline] Actually, I'm getting 512MB most of the time (burst memory) since I managed to find a small VPS host that I used a coupon on and got half price off the thing. No one seems to use their service, or atleast this box so I almost always have 512MB.
I was playing Minecraft on someone's server, and someone else was on. After I talked with him over how the server was laggy, he mentioned that I should upgrade my router, because the server lag may be on my end, because he didn't have the problem. So he goes on to tell me that he has three routers. $365 worth of them. One for his 360, ps3, and pc. I questioned him about it, the reasoning was so one wouldn't slow down the other, even though he only used one system at a time. He backed up his point saying that he hasn't experienced lag ever since doing that. He told me that when he played one one of the systems, it restarted the internet. I mentioned that it could have been a defective router, not something that happens with all of them. He countered that with how he got it from Best Buy, and that some of the newer routers have glitches. God help me.

)
Files and shit. Games too.
that is ridiculously overpowered for that purpose I hope you didnt pay to build this as a new server and instead are using an old PC....

Some people will stick to their "fact" and won't budge. It's his money, he can waste it however he wants. Not your problem.
And the fans. [editline]1st January 2012[/editline] It also works as a linux box.
