I have a little question or rant or smth. What has advanced in the last 40 years? I think Communication and Personal computers. Let's see, did you have a mobile phone ~20 years ago? No. Now? Usually yes. What can you do in it? Video calls - Check. Take pictures and send them to somebody - Check. Those were things in a James Bond movie in the 80's and nobody would think it would be real. PC-s now. So, your computer is a lot better than it was like, 30 years ago or so. A lot better. It has went better and better. Still goes better. Nobody thought back then that a computer what is about the size of a warehouse, would sit next to your desk / on your desk and you would be able to use it. And that it wouldn't cost millions of dollars. And now, let's see. Cars? Still the engine works the same way, just with a bit of technology mixed in. Electric windows? Was there in 50's. Conditioner? Was there then too. Radio? Was there. Whatever? Usually was there. Only the weight has maybe changed. And design, pretty much nothing else. Planes? We reached over-sound speed iin 60's or so. The concorde planes do not fly anymore, it is a bit of a downgrade. Spaceflights? Naah, pretty much canceled now, nobody wants to go to the moon or other planets now. No, I didn't check any dates. Stuff about cars was from my dad, a lot of old American cars had all the stuff what we have now. Communication - Well, maybe the video calls weren't in James Bond, I am not sure.
I think Facepunch needs an interesting rating ^^
I think Facepunch needs an interesting rating ^^
Informative works well for that
Father wanted that I would send some pictures to him so he could access them at work. Well, I go to my usual mail account at our ISP servers. Wrong password, wrong again, wrong, user locked for 15 minutes. Fuck that shit. Wait, I have a GMail account! Yeah, log in, send files. Check inbox. See google+ invite. FUCK YEAH! And, it is not from Facepunch, instead my sisters boyfriend. And I saw that my sister has a Google+ account too!
It's not like Google already knows everything about me. Right ??
Not like they know our faces, addresses, and wifi info...
Every time they try to look at my wi-fi they get an error about their wireless cable, so they don't have mine yet.

And this is why we love Google.
Back on the subject of spam e-mail, how come I don't get any? Maybe the occasional one here and there but other then that I'm totally clean... And I use that e-mail to sign up for game accounts and such.
Same here other then new egg not shutting the fuck up I don't get shit all.
Google sure is slow. Still no email about the Google+ invite :smith:
I got mine instantly and didn't even have to refresh the page. I think the pm here on facepunch took longer.

Why won't you guys add me? My profile should be there. <--- or somewhere here.
Why won't you guys add me? My profile should be there. <--- or somewhere here.
I managed to add you, through using Google Translate.
Why won't you guys add me? My profile should be there. <--- or somewhere here.
Tip: Use this url instead, https://plus.google.com/106460255362868875027. This makes your profile show up in the language other uses, else it's in Estonian.

It has been translated well, haven't seen any mistakes yet. Compared to facebook, this translation is a ton better.
Oh yeah. I forgot that it was in Estonian actually. It has been translated well, haven't seen any mistakes yet. Some Google products look like they translated it to Finnish with Google Translate, but Google+ is actually well done.
Trying to find jobs in the current market is a complete nightmare. Hunting around on Jobcenter, I can't find ANY temporary jobs, and permanent ones don't fit. Take a look at job FHM/28449:
Based in Hampshire, we provide full I.T services for a large portfolio of clients of various sizes and industries and are seeking a technician with in-depth skills and proven experience in all aspects of client-server networking. You will have experience and a good knowledge of MS Windows Server from 2003 onwards, MS Exchange, Windows XP, Vista and 7, TCPIP, DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, Network Cabling, Network Diagnostics and Network Security, Routers and Firewalls. Good communication skills, be self-motivated and able to work unsupervised and in a team. The position will include some working from home. Some Linux knowledge would be useful though not essential.
Great, I can do all that, and bits I'm rusty on like exchange and AD I can brush up on before I start. So where do I sign u-
You will have a full driving licence and own transport.
-p. Seriously, every single job I find either wants a driving licence (which I won't have for another couple of months, the only method of transport I have is bus / train) or isn't appropriate for my skillset. Any advice anyone from England can give? I really, really don't want to do retail.
