I'm really kicking myself in the balls right now for building an Intel socket 755 system with a E7500 in it last year. God damn, If I went with AMD I would have been able to upgrade to a quad core without dropping over $200. SIGH.
Oh god, a rig with that :gizz:

Plus that - looks like a decent mobo for building a gaming rig, am I wrong?

Dude, quad Crossfire and up to 64GB of RAM? I'm betting that can run Crysis on max.
Dude, quad Crossfire and up to 64GB of RAM? I'm betting that can run Crysis on max.
Um... Crysis can run on max settings with a single 1GB 5870, 6GB DDR3, and a Phenom II X4 955.
Would these procs work in my am2+ mobo?
Go this site: http://event.asus.com/mb/2010/m4_6cores/
Check for your board. They say that over time they will support over 200 boards? From am2, am2+, and am3.
Guys also remember that in gaming, if it isn't asking the processor to use all 6 cores it falls back to 3 core "turbo mode. Which basically takes those three cores and over clocks them.
An okay article by gizmodo: http://gizmodo.com/5525334/amds-300-6+core-cpu-too-good-to-be-true

Wait
yup
there goes the joke

Oops, my fault was not recognizing the stupid meme joke... Sorry for my practical response. -_-
Seems like a pretty good processor, so many new technologies coming out recently, makes me old build look like shit..
Time to get a credit card and build another computer
Awesome, but still going to get a 930, at least most likely :|
Review: Including benchmarks (Yes, it is in English)

AMD is doing really well for themselves lately.
you didn't really read the review or the benchmarks, did you?
So a 6 core amd performs the same as low i7?
I don't see the point in 2 more cores then.

You're slow, the games don't even utilize the extra cores yet.
What about nongaming benches

Is it worth it?
That's from Scan...
What cpu do you currently have
What cpu do you currently have
I'm currently on a dual-core Pentium 4 @ 3.0GHz, LGA775 + EM64T (64-bit support) :frown:
0GB RAM (Sold all 4GB to pay the storage rent) :frown:
8800GTS 640MB (G80 core)
I'm well aware that question wasn't aimed at me, but I give my thoughts on posts, even if it's not wanted. ^_^
Do they also include 2 disabled cores?
No, but apparently some of the new quads do.

*deep breath* What you mean is: a 6 core future proofing processor that you doesn't require you to buy a new power supply, mobo, or ram.... That gives you almost all the performance of an i7 can give at tasks that aren't built to use 6 or 3 cores... AND outperforms the higher i7 chips at some tasks, while maintaing a very low entry price range? *deep breath* and also overclocks easily on air?
I think you have to look at this from a large percentage of and users who are making builds based on price-performance analysis. A chip that isn't pushing the bleeding edge, but offering ALOT for very little; while impacting current builds as little as possible to make the switch as accessible as possible (hence re-using older sockets... Fuck even multiple old sockets). This is very much the point of a 6 core chip. This is actually the EXCUSE I have been waiting for to upgrade my phenom 550 calisto
Pedroion, I love YOU.
However, it is a totally conditional love... A love that lasts as long as long as you agree with me about amd.
$200 for the 1055T isn't too bad

Fuck cool 'n' quiet!
fucking liers i bet u just have 2 tri cores on top of eachoter
Seriously considering getting this.
fucking liers i bet u just have 2 tri cores on top of eachoter
Nope, its actually just a Phenom II x3 720 but its just showing 6 cores when auto unlocking is turned on via the slash screen

You should. Its a great deal.
Then again you could get 5 new games for your 360 for that price...
AMD should push mobo producers to manufacture gaming boards with two sockets. That would push the value of the new CPU up in terms of performance; two of the $300>a single i7 for $1200. Hell, if they wanted to, they could create 4 socket monos. (granted power consumption would absolutly suck, would need a new form factor most likely.)

Then intel does the same and you get 2 i7s
Besides sometime next year amd is going to have a 16 core cpu on the market.
While everyone bandwagons over it ill be patiently waiting for intels response.
