You should just stop posting on things you aren't knowledgeable about really.
We have people on here that can look at a picture of a CPU die and layout and understand what's going on. As I said earlier, we aren't AMD haters (You'll see us recommending AMD GPUs) but their CPU single threaded performance is still nowhere near AMDs.

The 7970 performs somewhat better, but the problem is price. You need to decide if you want to pay $100+ extra for that performance.

Most cost effective way is to get a standard 7970 with a good aftermarket cooler and then overclock it to the GHz edition levels, saves you $50 for the same performance.
