If you want android features, but used to IOS design you can just flash MIUI. It's like the Iphone design x100
Android wins in every possible aspect
In addition to the above post, the only thing Android is really missing is hardware acceleration. MIUI looks great on my phone but unfortunately with no hardware acceleration it's not as smooth as I'd like to be. I think this issue is being fixed in Ice Cream Sandwich
I have to agree that the s2 is probably one of the few phones which can beat the iPhone, even the 4s, at any day. Well the only thing I have with the iPhone is the well populated app store and better email support. Apart from that and the battery life of course, I am leaning toward the s2.
In theory, the s3 should be better than the s2. But when the s3 comes out, you have the option to wait for the s4. It is just a vicious cycle. So get one now.

Except for being locked-down as far as customization goes.

You can always use a different e-mail client. K-9 Mail is pretty good.

What do you mean by that?
get an iphone.
get an blackberry will save you $ AND is waaayyy better
The only advantage I'd consider, since you're already an iPhone user, is the fact that you're probably already in Apple's "Walled Garden" of apps and content. If you've already spent a lot of money on Apps and other iTunes content like music and videos, you may want to reconsider jumping ship.
I could be wrong about the iTunes content, but I know for a fact that all Apps that you've purchased will be unusable by anything but an iDevice.

But, you have complete control over the UI...

I think he means that "Iphone is better than Android at being locked down." So, in context of the conversation, he disproved the argument that "Android wins in every possible aspect" because "The Iphone is better at being locked down."

That makes much more sense.
I saw a video on youtube comparing the speeds of the Galaxy S2 and the iPhone 4S. The Galaxy was faster, and the voice control was about as good as Siri, and the 1080p camera was the same if not better.
I think I'm going to get the Galaxy S2, or the Nexus prime if it is announced soon. Unfortunately my carrier takes ages to get any new products (except for iPhones), and they don't even carry the S2 yet.
The only thing left is to see if Android can play songs through my car stereo and I'm sold as soon as my carrier gets off their ass and stocks them.
As far as I know, android supports OGG playback too

Why would you use ogg?
Why would you use ogg?
He's got a lot of music files in that format perhaps?
Why would you use ogg?
variable bit rate
Why would you use ogg?
I've got a ton of music in FLAC and OGG as well. I also have all my movies in the MKV container. If I get a 4S(I may get one along with the Nexus Prime) I'll have to convert all those files to formats that Apple says I can play.

Lightweight and mediocre sound.
Lightweight and mediocre sound.
Couldn't the same be said for any lossy format?
I'd wait for the ICS update and get a phone that supports it natively (if the first run phones that have it aren't shit). This should happen within the end of the year
Note that eventually all android devices will get ICS, including tablets

Slightly smaller file size, same quality as Mp3. I think Mp3 is a bad format and I don't know why it is so standardized.
I prefer MP4/M4A @ 192kb/s. Sounds just as good as a 320KB/s MP3 and a fraction of the file size due to a better compression algorithm.
