How Do I Overclock My GTX260 and 7300LE Among Other Performance Questions
I thought you could overclock from within the nVidia control panel, but maybe I'm wrong. RivaTuner is a great tool from what I hear, I normally don't overclock. This isn't the 90's, where a few extra MHz really made a difference. This is 2011, where it takes an extra 1GHz to be noticeable.
You can overclock from the ATi Catalyst Control Center, but not from the nVidia Control Panel it seems. Rivatuner is your best bet.

Mmm, thank you. :h:
As soon as I get home, I'm going to go through my POST and my BIOS Setup Utility and hope it isn't locked.
ATi tool is a great Graphics overclocking software too. It may be called ATi Tool but it works for just about anything.
Not to derail the thread but this one's got me considering of overclocking my GTS 250. It's a Palit and "Eco Green" Edition, so it has the lowest speeds of all the GTS 250s. So you guys recommend Riva Tuner to overclock it?
The guide from nVIDIA says to use nTune to edit voltages, clock speeds, and frequencies for my motherboard, CPU, GPU, PCI-E slots. RivaTuner is great too though. I keep its hardware monitor on my second monitor all day and watch my GPUs' core and ambient temperatures as I play BC2.

MSI Afterburner is my favorite VGA overclocking utility. Before anyone asks, you don't need to own a MSI card.
So I'll check out Afterburner, RivaTuner, and nTune to see which of them is the easiest to use/user friendly

It is just RivaTuner in a more user friendly UI though.

Pretty much true for every graphics card overclocking utility.
But RivaTuner already has a user-friendly UI...
RivaTuner is really only a temporary solution (Unless I'm mistaken)
The more permanent method of making changes to clock speeds and such is to flash the settings to the GPU
Through my BIOS, my CPU clocks and settings are locked, but nTune lets me change them and the fan speeds.
With all fans at 100% it's like having a jet in my living room. I can't even hear the TV.
I can have nTune automatically tune my clocks, voltages, and timings to their maximum stable settings. Course tuning takes ~20 minutes, fine tuning about 3 hours.
Can anyone recommend a good full tower and motherboard and CPU? This case is huge, but there is no room to work in it because of how the fans are arranged.
