You won't notice a massive difference unless you have a big resolution.
The more memory = The easier it is to run at high resolutions
What resolution is your screen?
What resolution is your screen?
My current resolution on my monitor is pretty bad. 1600x900. Well at least I think its bad. Any recommendations on a cheap over 21 inch monitor?

That monitor looks tight but I saw videos and stuff and it doesn't seem to stand straight and that's how I always use it.
Damn dude xxncxx got banned? Why?
I'm back. The monitor you have now is not a bad res, its actually pretty good. Seeing as I have only 1280 x 1024.
Tip of advice, at the end of this input all the parts into Google Shop and you'll find places that sell the parts for less. You could easily save over $100.

I'll probably just get a mouse and keyboard then. Thinking about the Microsoft Sidewinder x4 and not sure on the mouse.
MB, not GB. Yes, you will run them smoothly. Not on maximum settings, but around medium/high.
I bet it will on maximum settings, at least for the source games, my old 8800GT did, also on a 1920x1200 monitor

Oh definitely. He will max his source games with ease at his res.
BC2 I'm not so sure about. But I think you should come pretty close to maxing it out. Just might have to calm down on AA and AF.
http://secure.newegg.com/WishList/PublicWishDetail.aspx?WishListNumber=13421745 Guys I think I can throw in like $300 of my own money in there. What can I fix up. Sorry for all the problems and shit...

You can get some better RAM, maybe upgrade your PSU to 650 or 700 watts. If you want you can get a more expensive case that's better, like a Lian Li.

Get this combo for your PSU+HDD: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.431396
Get a motherboard with at least 2 PCIe 2.0, preferably 8x/8x rather than 16x/4x (These cost around $140 at the least), upgrade to a 5850, get better ram, and if you have anything left over, get a better case. The 690 II is pretty much top of the line for the sub $100 case arena, but you can do a bit better if you're willing to invest another $50-$100 by getting a Silverstone or Lian Li.
Better PSU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139005&cm_re=650w_psu-_-17-139-005-_-Product

Better case: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811112250
[editline]01:45PM[/editline]
Broke my automerge.
Goes a bit over 300$, that shouldn't be too much of a problem.
That only adds $50 or so, go for a better motherboard and a 5850.
[editline]01:48PM[/editline]
Also get the combo I listed above.
Lian Li cases are nice, but for $40 extra?
And don't you dare be a material whore and whine about plastic, CM690 II is only a bit plastic.

KK Again though can you link me to a motherboard. And am I not allowed to add combos to wish list?

But I like whining about plastic. :saddowns:

No, you can't add combos to a wishlist because they're temporary.
As for the motherboard, I found these 2 combos:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.437416
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.434996
And also this, which has 2 full x16 PCIe 2.0 slots, but does not support USB3 or SATA 6, if that matters to you.

So should i get a 5850?
That's up to you. On average, it performs 12% better than the GTX460, so whether the extra money is worth that extra 12% is up to you.
So should i get a 5850?
5850 or 5870 if you can.
5850 or 5870 if you can.
I'll probably just settle for the 5850.
https://secure.newegg.com/WishList/MySavedWishDetail.aspx?ID=13421745 is what it came out to be. Any more fixes?
Edit: I can probably go up $100 more. IDK what can be fixed with that but w/e

List doesn't work.
Switch out that optical drive. It's an IDE. Get a SATA..

IDE is not bad, it can easily reach the same speeds of SATA.

If you really want to blow the extra $100, get a 650HX over the 650TX for better cable management, and get a small SSD to put your OS on.

It's a pain to do cable management with IDE cables though. Thats why SATA is better.
