The SE in GTX460se stands for slow edition, so no overclocking, and very prone to overheating.
You could overclock it pretty damn well I thought.
I think Nvidia turned the 8800GT into the 9800Gt, then made a faster 9800GTX+, then turned that into the GTS 250. The GTS 450 is the DirectX 11 equivalent of the GTS 250, although with a bit higher performance.
So, in essence, I don't think a GTS 450 is really much of an upgrade for you. It's more like trading in an old DirectX 10 card for the DirectX 11 version of the same thing.
I think most people are right, the LEAST you should go for is an AMD 5770 or 6770(same thing basically) or Nvidia 460(768mb version) or maybe 550ti. The 460 SE is a slower version of the 460 that Nvidia put 1gb of memory on, to make the 'more memory=faster card' people happy. It's best to avoid that card.
edit: the downside of the 550ti is that it's basically an overclocked GTS 450, but it's on par with the 5770 in performance.
550 ti is shit, get 560 ti.
