I just updated from OpenOffice 3.1.1 to OpenOffice 3.2.0 via Terminal. I'll post results soon.
Justed tested OpenOffice 3.2.0...
MOST UNIMPRESSIVE!
...Seriously, did they change of improve anything? Was it just a bug-fix release? :raise:

Almost never. :smug:
In other words, bing didn't block openoffice, openoffice blocked bing? :v:
http://searchengineland.com/openofficeorg-mia-in-bing-but-not-censorship-39004
The reason why. It is openoffices flaw.
Thanks, added to the first post. Mystery solved.
I told you I couldn't convince any GenericMonk. Seems that 99% of everyone just bashed it and rated me dumb for saying otherwise. This is why I don't do stuff like this. I bet half these people who go bing bashing never used it.

I have used Bing, and it couldn't find anything I was looking for. Google finds me everything I need. So I'm staying with what works.
All I wanted was a certain Anime wallpaper, and Bing gave me random anime galleries, maps to artist studios, shops for art supplies, and anime drawing tutorials. Pretty-much everything I didn't need. :geno:
Oh, and apparently Microsoft doesn't know that a miniature bong is called a bing. Microsoft now supports Marijuana.

I don't believe you.
I don't believe you.
Google finds me almost everything I need.
It feels like Google used to be better and turn up more useful results. I tried setting the locale on Bing to US and it works as well at least. Some things it finds better some things it finds worse. Overall it felt better, but I can't get localised results with US Bing, or for that matter login because then it autodetects my Live settings as Danish. And the Danish Bing is terrible, showers me in Asian irrelevant results and generally can't find a thing.
I haven't tried it but I hear Yahoo actually has the best solution these days. Although it is said to pollute the results with paid entries.
Can't beat Bing image search though. Infinite scrolling, inline previewing and temporary bookmarking is great. Can also search by more parameters. Google added this to their search but it doesn't feel as effective.
Bing couldn't find pigshit if it's server was on a farm.
They have a server farm.
office costs a shitload and openoffice is free.
Guess which one I use :smug:
^ this.
Koffice is free too and it doesn't look like a turd, not that I have used it or anything.
I use open office because ms office costs more money then I make in a week.

The fact that they arbitrarily remove results that they don't like makes it an inadequate search engine.
That's not mindless bashing, that's quite a solid argument.

OpenOffice.org was already explained as a problem with their site, not Bing. So unless you can provide another example that's not a valid argument.

It's been shown times and times again on Slashdot, I'm sure you could find a few examples with a proper Google search. OpenOffice wouldn't have been the first one if it was really MS' fault.

All I can find are articles about OpenOffice.org and poor results for people outside the US, nothing that would lead me to believe MS is removing results that they don't like.

Why can't you find me some examples, because I am not able to?

Open office sucks, use Word, or IBM Lotus Symphony
Bing isn't a bad search engine, I like it better than yahoo, ask.com and all hose retard search engines, but Google's still #1
Microsoft is defending their product, nothing wrong with that.
Plus OpenOffice isn't a threat to MS..why? Because OpenOffice is exactly what it says it is. It is open source, so anyone can get the code or add shit to it. Some MS formats don't work properly with OpenOffice and vise versa. Plus all business will stick with MS due to the fact that is what they've all ways used and they can get customer support for it. Most colleges give out free copies of MS office/OS's as long as your a student. Microsoft has a hold of the market for this and the average computer user doesn't know much about OpenOffice.
Don't get me wrong, OpenOffice is a great little program/suite. It is wonderful for an individual that can't afford MS Office. But it isn't exactly the solution that everyone is looking for.
I don't get some of you guys. You claim that OpenOffice is ugly. They look almost identical.
They provide almost identical features. OpenOffice comes with some cool stuff M$ Office doesn't.
OpenOffice is free and M$ Office is a rip-off.
Docx is the most proprietary piece of shit on earth, and should die in a fire.
So why do you want to pay for something that isn't any better?

How is MS office a ripoff? It came out before OpenOffice, and there is a vast difference in the programs UI depending on what version you use. Not defending windows or trying to come off as a fanboy, but i'm just point out how stupid your statement looks.
2003 is probably the most common at schools and such and that looks identical to OpenOffice.
And rip-off refers entirely to the price of M$ Office, not that they copied OpenOffice.
Also, choosing to pay money for a nicer UI is stupid.
Go buy a Mac if you want to pay for a look.

A year or two ago I went on an open source kick, I decided that I would never use MS Office again, only OO. A couple of weeks later I gave up and switched back. I didn't think it was ugly or slow or bloated, there were just a bunch of little things that eventually made me hate using it, plus one or two missing features that I couldn't live without.
That's respectable. Though half of the people here hate OO for reasons that really don't exist.
It's not slow or ugly, and I'm pretty sure it's smaller than M$ Office.
I personally haven't noticed any important features missing, but I know there's a few.
Also, I find it funny that the joke arrow is pointing to MR-X's quoted post :3

you're retarded, he meant it's a rip off because it costs money.

It absolutely is ugly. Which is in fact one of the things that I, personally find annoying. Because the perceived layout or size of elements may be skewed because it lacks any kind of subpixel detail whatsoever. As well as the uglyness helping the already confusing UI feel more unapproachable.
