ok, the flame war has ended.. and the winner is PC [editline]06:47PM[/editline]
ITT: Opinions on prebuilts. My opinion? All prebuilts suck.
oh hi
he never said he was going to game.
im assuming if he's has a high budget he's planning to game on it
im assuming if he's has a high budget he's planning to game on it
agree'd, I was just being the stubborn Mac user I am. I'm sorry.
$100000 american Send that to me and I will build* you a computer. The rest is for work costs and taxes. *send you a shitty $200 dell computer
I'm not completely retarded. I have looked up the parts, compared prices for different companies. I have new-egg and built my dream computer using the parts. I have looked up all kinds of info on building computers versus pre-built. I looked up how-to guides to see how I can do build a computer without damaging the parts; gathered what I can do and preparing myself mentally that I can do it. All I really wanted is which company,if any, was better than the other, and the user opinion of where I could easily obtain parts and helpful tips that wouldn't be in guides, but there through user experience.
um, because Macs are pre-builts. the OP asked for a pre-built and no preference of an OS was stated.
The £900 extra you pay for a mac isn't exactly hardware, so buying a mac to install windows on it is just as stupid as just lighting it on fire. Also some simple google searches and you know which hardware/brand to get.
OP, here's a good guide. http://www.pcityourself.com/building/introduction.php Also make sure you ground yourself before touching any of the components. Do this by touching the metal case before touching anything else. Do this regularly while building. It prevents electrostatic discharge from your body wrecking the components.

Oh and for this to have any effect the power supply has to be installed, I think. I haven't ever really had problems with static electronics though, just stay away from anything sharp, and if you cut yourself then wrap it in paper+tape/rubber bond.
No, it has nothing to do with the powersupply. Static can discharge into a processor if you're just holding it in your hand (IIRC).
The answer to any pre-built question is build one.
Well, I am going to build one but I need to ask; I got suggested to buy two high powered graphics cards, but do I need them? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814161301
It will make one kick as gaming computer if you do get 2.
Well, what would be a good estimate for Ram, Processor, and Mother Board? Actually, how good would you rate the following wish list? http://secure.newegg.com/WishList/PublicWishDetail.aspx?WishListNumber=13828366

Now that this has changed topic, ill move it to PC Building. Ill also update the thread title accordingly.
Just, for some reason. I needed to have a prebuilt, which company is the best of the worst?
Paying your friend to build it for you would be the best company.
Well, I am going to build one but I need to ask; I got suggested to buy two high powered graphics cards, but do I need them?
That can only be answered by yourself. You need to ask yourself a few questions, lets get the stupid ones out of the way: 1) Do you really need AA maxed to enjoy a game? 2) Do you need FPS to be 100% maxed to enjoy a game? Now to the serious questions: 1) Do you have a large screen resolution that you plan on using? 2) Are you going to do high-end gaming often (as in playing the new crap that comes out and not CSS 24/7)? 3) Is price an issue? 4) Do you want to future-proof yourself? (That needs a new term since it's impossible to do so) 5) Do you really think you need 2 of those? Of course that's all assuming price is an issue, if it isn't, then you don't need to ask us how to spend your money.
how2max fps 100%
turn vsync on :o technically your maxing it out 100% if your always at the highest value
Hardware is just hardware isn't it? Just try and get the best deal you can. More legit specs, the better. If you are talking about laptops, go with lenovo because thinkpad > all
another quality post from Maccabee
Most prebuilt computers suck, maybe ibuypower or some asus laptops are pretty decent, but otherwise just build your own one.
turn vsync on :o technically your maxing it out 100% if your always at the highest value
What I meant was hitting the engines cap. Sources cap is 300 (at least it won't let me go any higher) last I remember. So hitting the cap and holding would be 100% maxed.
I've seen Source go beyond 300 before.
i hit 314 in cs:s loading screen once :downs:
