Yes, but sadly still using 9.10 here at work.
I'm installing Linux right now :smug: Setting up my laptop with an Arch-Win7 dual boot. First Linux install not counting Ubuntu ages ago for shits and giggles :buddy:
Yep, Arch Linux /w Openbox. ram usage 90 mb <3
Yep, CentOS 5.5.
After a few hours and more than a few beers, I have Arch up and running, and am posting from it :buddy: [img_thumb]http://i54.tinypic.com/20set5u.png[/img_thumb] Hooray for default gnome theme that you've probably all seen a million times

Seriously.
Nope. I was just playing a game so..
Rated funny. Anyway, I'm on Arch Linux full time.
Yep, I use Debian for everything other than Windows games (I have a separate gaming box for that). I've had this laptop for about four years and the very first time I turned it on was with the Debian install CD in the drive.
Not right this second.
I have both my laptop and PC on. I've got win7 on my PC and Arch on my laptop. I really do think arch is the best distribution. Linux mint has a close second place. That is in my opinion of course.
Nope, never even seen a system running linux. Thinking about getting a new drive for my old dell and dual booting windows xp and linux, maybe just linux though. I have time to think about that though.
Found a 160 GB drive, and I'm using 30 GB for Ubuntu 10.10. I'm surprised it actually runs well on this old system. It boots completely in 40 seconds.
running Fedora 14 on my netbook.
Running Ubuntu 10.04 on my parents laptop. Need to get a new hard drive and set everything up again before I can give it back to them.
Yep. I'm Running Linux Mint 9 on my laptop. It dual-boots with Windows 7 Pro, using separate partitions for each OS. I'm patiently waiting for Linux Mint 10 so I can burn my LM9 discs in the woodstove.
I spent about 1 hour trying to install Arch going step by step on the wiki I just had to give up
Arch should come with an installer like Ubuntu, but with an assload of more features. It would bloat up the install disc, but not the final installation.
Arch should come with an installer like Ubuntu, but with an assload of more features. It would bloat up the install disc, but not the final installation.
Huh? Arch does have an installer. It covers almost everything minus a DE/WM.
Huh? Arch does have an installer. It covers almost everything minus a DE/WM.
yeah but you could actually mess something up in arch's installer!!
Nope, never even seen a system running linux.
You probably have, actually, but just didn't realize it. Ever seen a TiVo or an Android phone, for example?
You probably have, actually, but just didn't realize it. Ever seen a TiVo or an Android phone, for example?
pretty much this, many people use Linux every day without ever even knowing it.
Nope, been playing me some BC2 on the stationary.
yeah but you could actually mess something up in arch's installer!!
Arch's installer is pretty easy to get through if you're reading the beginners guide. Hell, I've only installed it once and haven't had any issues, and I feel like I could go through the whole thing again without the guide.

I guess I was lucky :) I haven't had too many issues, nothing that a google search hasn't solved.
i loaded arch in vm just to say that i am
no
Not right now. My laptop runs linux because I can't find a working driver for my wireless chip for windows. Ubuntu just worked. This computer: win7 for steam games and video editing Laptop and other desktop: linux, for everything else.
yeah but you could actually mess something up in arch's installer!!
Not if you just read the popups and just press enter when there's none. It's practically a straight install except for partitioning.
