I'm in Windows and Firefox at the moment. But this is my Blu-ray ripping machine. My laptop runs Linux Mint exclusively. Might install a vLite'd Windows 7 on it as a backup OS incase Linux takes a dump on me, which it occasionally has in the past.
lets say statistically, the people that viewed this thread use Windows primarily (assuming that you'd be using a browser on your primary OS, not your virtual or shell session)
Don't be dumb. You probably get your OS & Browser type scanned a dozen times every day. All he did was be fucking smart. I'm personally impressed.
I know tracking pixels are all over the Internet. Doesn't mean I'm fucking fine with it, either.
I know tracking pixels are all over the Internet. It is not like he stole any personal information or anything. He simply looked in his access logs which any server admin is entitled to do. If you don't like that use a proxy.

I'm not okay with it, so I adblocked the entire site. I'm not okay with this planet, but I still won't be leaving it.
you could always just spoof your browser and OS with one of the 5 mllion extensions there are floating around. Then sit in your basement and lol because you have defeated the evil tracking pixel! or alternatively you could
Using ChromeOS on my new CR48 :smug:
Me too !
Using Windows on desktop because my netbook screwed up. I'll be sending it in for repairs in a couple days or getting a new one. On a side-note, I'm always ending up with some sort of syntax error in my programs because I'm used to vim.
Isn't android Unix-based? In any case, my PC is currently backing up onto a 2TB harddrive, but it's running Acronis t backup which boots with isolinux. I'd be using Ubuntu on my laptop but my laptop is shit and only Ubuntu makes it bearable, which still isn't good

yes i am posting for the third time on linux next time it will probably be at school passing the filters erryday
btw this thread was to actually see if people are using linux i hotlinked an image in the op to find out some web demographics and some on further pages it turns out more than 80% of the people that are regularly revisitng this thread use windows and are firefox users i am disappoint
"are you using linux right now?" "it turns out more than 80% of the people that are regularly revisitng this thread use windows" How does that apply to this thread, exactly?
Not now, no. In a hour or two yes.
I just installed Ubuntu 10.10 on my computer (Dualboot with Vista) and i intend to use it as my primary OS so i can get a basic knowledge of Linux. Maybe in a few months i am going to install something more advanced. And yes, i am typing this in ubuntu.
Good to see more users on Linux. Have fun! (and enjoy your faster operating system!)
"are you using linux right now?" "it turns out more than 80% of the people that are regularly revisitng this thread use windows" How does that apply to this thread, exactly?
what
Posting from an Ubuntu Live disk whilst it installs.
what
"are you using linux right now?", not "are you using linux overall?"
I put ubuntu 10.10 on this laptop as soon as I switched the monitor from another one that I had. So far it has served me very well. I was even able to put Minecraft on here too! Now I just need to get a server going and then I'll see if I can put Heroes of Newerth on here as well...
I had fun reading the random links on rookies site. btw, I am using linux.

i do too, i kinda didn't think many would be doing it. I need to, I have a few enterprise plugins which make my user agent really unique (and traceble). IE and Citrix seem to go hand in hand. neat tool for anyone interested https://panopticlick.eff.org/
Your browser fingerprint appears to be unique among the 1,323,903 tested so far. well that's nice
your spoofed agent appears as unique?
I'm actually in Windows right now. Not a whole lot of people are running the latest nightly build of Firefox, especially not on Server 2003
Font-options and plugins are a dead giveaway most of the time.
Yes, new netbook :D
