afaik there are no 34nm processors in the Core 2 series.
Sorry 45nm :P
There are no 34nm cores yet at all, not from intel anyways.(but some i5's and i3's are 32nm oddly) :)
Accidentially mixed ssd's and cores together. XD

Picked a cheaper board - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-251-GI
Based on:
- IDE port
- Not a cheap Asus board
- Not interested in SLI
- 890 chipset

Quick question, why and "IDE" port.
(Which btw is called ATA or PATA)
I don't want to go looking for a DVD burner as flexible as the one I currently have.
The AM4 CPU's will most likely be supported in a AM3, and even though if it isn't you will still have a great amout of CPU's to choose from. Intel tends to change their sockets fast (apart from the 775), so I say AM3 is the moore solid one.

Oh well no worries then. :P

Not to rain on your parade, but the only change intel has made in sockets was to accommodate the new i'series, which is the 1156 and the 1366. 1156 for the lower end ones and 1366 for the highend ones.

And the upcoming revisions which are 1155 and 2011

I like Intel but, that is entirely not true. Now theres 1366, 1156a. 1156b(not released), 1156c(Not released), 1155(Not released), and 1567(Not released)
They have been going socket crazy.

Of course how could I be so daft! :downs:

Yeah I just saw, then I would have to agree that is just plain stupid.
It was right what I said. There's a chance that the AM4 CPU's will be compatible with AM3, where Intel is just changing socket's without really using them, so I say the AM3 is still a more solid investment.

PATA is just a retronym of IDE

Holy fuck, I didn't realize they was three versions of the 1156 socket.

They are unreleased, IDK if they will honestly come out with them, but they are named on whitesheet docs.
