Students suspended for allegedly being white supremacists for wearing white t-shirts
this is probably a fake story like that one time the kids where suspended for having t-shirts with the american flag on it
Got any proof of that? Or would this just be speculation on your part?
that wasn't even close to the whole truth and this also sounds like a load of bullshit designed to get a rise out of people peeved off about political correctness
The principal even acknowledged here that the reason why they were suspended was because he was receiving complaints from students about them being members of a white pride group; the only thing he wouldn't comment on and had to keep confidential was what their punishments would be. A load of bullshit it is, but not on their part; the blame lies solely with the kids who turned them in.
It will be interesting to observe this story as it develops, that's for true.
no that highlights how much you don't even understand of what you are saying so i'd suggest you drop it
That doesn't make any sense...
"you don't even understand of what you are saying"?
... and anyone hear who thinks otherwise lives on another fucking planet
And anyone that uses the wrong form of "here" lives on another fucking planet.
Got any proof of that? Or would this just be speculation on your part?
it's obvious

lol no he didn't.
But told me the school got several complaints about a white pride group on campus.

"Safety is always first at Soquel High," says Lawrence-Emanuel. "We want to make sure we do everything we can to keep people from feeling and being safe on campus."
it doesn't say anything about why they were suspended.
It will be interesting to observe this story as it develops.
there's nothing to develop, it's a slow-news story.
That doesn't make any sense...
"you don't even understand of what you are saying"? :v:
you don't know what you are talking about so be quiet.

auto-correct
Holy fuck, soon my very exsistance will mean I'm a racist.
I think there was someone here who was at the grocery store's line to check their items when a kid was screaming really loud and the mom wouldnt do a thing about it. He told her politely that he was being annoying and she jumped on him accusing him of being racist because she was black.
the news packages stories like these all the times and they'll modify or drop certain aspects of the truth to create a narrative and get reactions from people.
this is the MO of news companies. why do you think fox news acts the way fox news acts. it's certainly not limited to them.
And so where did you get the truth?
And so where did you get the truth?
some gibberish someone calls in
"hey news company i have a story for you" or they talk to some random person who says something about something
people get expelled in hundreds of schools every single day. they don't look into each school hoping to find the thread that will tear the corruption of the education system down.
it's obvious
Not really. Now it would be obvious if it had been confirmed that it was all a nonsense story the kids came up with, but it hasn't been. You're just speculating and making assumptions; that's all.
lol no he didn't.

Soquel High Principal Ken Lawrence-Emanuel was very tight-lipped about it, saying the students' punishments are confidential. But told me the school got several complaints about a white pride group on campus.
"Safety is always first at Soquel High," says Lawrence-Emanuel. "We want to make sure we do everything we can to keep people from feeling and being safe on campus."
See above.
there's nothing to develop, it's a slow-news story.
You seriously don't think that more details aren't going to emerge about this? Or that, moreover, the news isn't going to watch it closely for the next few days?
you don't know what you are talking about so be quiet.
You don't know what you're talking about. Speculations and assumptions are all you've offered here. I'm not taking sides on this story yet, as you should be well aware of. All I'm saying is that the issue of political correctness has gotten ridiculous, as evidenced by plenty of other events in the news in recent years. This story, if true, only adds to that heap.

Because its fucking everywhere, its not a news story when everyone knows this fact but nothing is done. My point is that how do you find that truth when you're suggesting everyone is lieing to us.
Not really. Now it would be obvious if it had been confirmed that it was all a nonsense story the kids came up with, but it hasn't been. You're just speculating and making assumptions; that's all.
lol
read what i posted before, the story doesn't make any sense logically
You seriously don't think that more details aren't going to emerge about this? Or that, moreover, the news isn't going to watch it closely for the next few days?
no of course not! it's not even a local news station.

and i'm saying the political correctness bullshit is made up, it's up in your head, it doesn't exist. you just don't know the difference between what black pride means and what white pride means.
it's designed to manipulate you into thinking a certain way.
but hey, believe what you wanna believe
Because its fucking everywhere, its not a news story when everyone knows this fact but nothing is done. My point is that how do you find that truth when you're suggesting everyone is lieing to us.
i hardly doubt anyone cared before this news report made it look like something you needed to care about.
think back to your high school. did you know who got suspended and why?
All I'm saying is that the issue of political correctness has gotten ridiculous, as evidenced by plenty of other events in the news in recent years. This story, if true, only adds to that heap.
but those events are all manufactured outrage. like the whole "baa baa rainbow sheep" thing. someone somehow involved in a school makes a suggestion and the media jumps on it and blows it up to "you're not allowed to say "black sheep" in public schools in the UK anymore"
it's not real
[editline]27th May 2011[/editline]
i mean it's literally the same version of journalism you see in episodes of childrens' cartoons in which the main character opens a newspaper and starts manipulating the truth because it sells more papers. and people like the OP fall for it
Great job completely over stepping political correctness again, America.
Cause California = America.
relevant:

ultimately this fear of political correctness comes from a paranoia that comes from elitism IE "the higher-ups want to control the language we use" and nothing taps more into that than some kind of story where a school supposedly decides what is politically correct
"Safety is always first at Soquel High," says Lawrence-Emanuel. "We want to make sure we do everything we can to keep people from feeling and being safe on campus."

yeah i feel really safe knowing that if i wear a plain t-shirt i can get arrested for supermacy
yeah i feel really safe knowing that if i wear a plain t-shirt i can get arrested for supermacy
look at this
"wearing a white tshirt gets you suspended" (which isn't even true in the first place) has suddenly transformed into "wearing a white tshirt gets you arrested"
this is exactly how this stuff propagates

sorry!
God damn, California can be so fucking retarded sometimes.
Oh America, you so silly.
You think America is silly just by reading one article about one dumb school?
Woah. You guys are getting desperate. Why not just accept that America isn't total shit?
I have a feeling there's a lot more to this story

i have a feeling there's a lot less to this story

which is cool, but plenty of other people don't realize the mistakes they make when reproducing and relaying information. with facebook and twitter and chain emails acting like a worldwide game of telephone, this is how blatantly untrue stuff like this

begins to permeate the public discourse
dishonest and hyperbolic reporting like the stuff in the OP just multiplies exponentially the amount of harm that the all the users of the internet with those same tendencies can cause
i have a feeling there's a lot less to this story
you know what I mean bro
it's complete bullshit, probably they got into fights or probably they did something else retarded but no-one gets suspended for having white t-shirts and anyone here who thinks otherwise lives on another fucking planet
do you know this

do you have any proof they got in fights
i am

do you have any proof of it otherwise
oh you think some random website that calls itself a news organization and doesn't cite anything as a source except itself has any standing of reality in this shitty "people"-driven media hole?
occam's razor, which one makes the least assumptions
2 kids got suspended for fighting which happens every week in every school
2 kids got suspended for wearing a fucking white t-shirt because they were tagged as white supremacists
which one is more fucking likely to you huh?
no fucking KION is the bloody standard of news, nothing they ever say could be wrong or exaggerated.
oh look they have a video
"tensions at the school ran high!"
do you have any proof of it otherwise

read what i posted before, the story doesn't make any sense logically
This is what you originally posted:
this is probably a fake story like that one time the kids where suspended for having t-shirts with the american flag on it
that wasn't even close to the whole truth and this also sounds like a load of bullshit designed to get a rise out of people peeved off about political correctness
judging by the reactions in this thread, it's extremely effective
Plausible from a logical perspective, but your assertion that this must be the simple fact of the matter is nothing more than that: an assertion. This, along with everything else you have posted here in this thread, consists of speculation and assumptions on your part. Precisely why I proposed we wait until further developments come to light before jumping to conclusions and taking sides here.
no of course not! it's not even a local news station.
Glad you agree. Now then, why not wait and see what happens with this story?
and i'm saying the political correctness bullshit is made up, it's up in your head, it doesn't exist.
I think this is the first time in all the years that I have used the Internet that I have ever met a person who was seriously and honestly questioning the existence of political correctness within the ideology of society. On that note, plenty of others seem to think it exists and should be a valid part of said society- to the extent where it should be applicable to law (indeed, it has reached a point where it is a part of law, being the subject of numerous court cases and legal issues; for some examples, see: http://www.law.fsu.edu/journals/lawreview/downloads/271/aust.pdf).
you just don't know the difference between what black pride means and what white pride means.
Actually, I do. Race, nothing more or less.
it's designed to manipulate you into thinking a certain way.
Racial pride is just a way to commemorate and celebrate your heritage and racial identity; that's all it has ever been intended to be. It wasn't "designed" as you put it to manipulate and cause shitstorms. All it amounts to is an idea. The thing that causes shitstorms with it, however, is that political correctness advocates make a big deal over it. It's incredibly hypocritical to say that white pride is off-limits and a negative thing whilst black pride, brown pride, etc. are all perfectly acceptable, which, if you've paid attention in recent years to the stories covering this matter, is exactly the attitude people are taking. This story, if true, only serves to prove that point even more.
[editline]27th May 2011[/editline]
but hey, believe what you wanna believe
Are you by chance a member of Above Top Secret? You really could pass off as a conspiracy theorist. You've got all kinds of little theories going in this thread alone about the media, political correctness, world cultures, nameless "elitist, higher-up" figures and organizations manipulating people through ideas...
do you know this
i have no doubt that they were suspended for being white supremacists, but wearing whit shirts cannot possibly be the sole reason because the school didn't suspend a third of it's students, only this specific group of individuals.
there were likely many more accusations of white supremacism leveled at them which amalgamated into the justification for their suspension, with the "white shirt" angle being the one that was jumped on by this news outlet because that's what gets them pageviews.
Racial pride is just a way to commemorate and celebrate your heritage and racial identity; that's all it has ever been intended to be.
racial pride movements exist within contexts bro. black pride originated as a response to racial oppression which continues to this day. to pretend that "white pride" and "black pride" should exist on the same footing assumes that whites (there isn't even such a thing as a "white" racial heritage, btw) and blacks exist on equal footing themselves. while it'd be awesome if that were true, it's not, and so different racial movements have to be taken into consideration utilizing their larger social contexts

yeah okay
Actually, I do. Race, nothing more or less.
no black pride refers to the culture that was born out of disenfranchisement. remember when black people were considered inferior to whites? guess when black pride was invented.
Racial pride is just a way to commemorate and celebrate your heritage and racial identity; that's all it has ever been intended to be. white pride has its roots in racism because it reinforces the made up idea of race. race isn't the main concept behind black pride which you obviously do not know about.
hence why i can easily say you don't know what you are talking about
