I'm not hiding behind my couch, I'm just cleaning the space behind it.
Did you check the space behind the couch for spiders before you hid back there?
Deploy napalm before the planet is overrun.
That's why I also brought my trusty hammer.
This reminds me of Penumbra.
It's incredible how fast that fuckin' thing can move. Still, even that one doesn't bother me as much as the Golden Orb Weaver. Look at that thing! Fuck that thing.
One of these got into my house and stuck itelf on the entry wall right next to the backdoor. Needless to say that fucking thing met my shoe, exotic animal or not, a spider that fucking huge escaped from god-knows-where had no place ON THE FUCKING ENTRY HALLWAY I shat a brick, it was so huge I had to smack it multiple times before it died

It looks bigger than Duke Nukem's boot! Though that was a pretty badass reaction. I'd probably scream and throw my scalpel at it.

Seeing how it is <40F I doubt they will live that long
Geez, everyone's freaking out over spiders... My dad (a biology/environmental science teacher) housed a black widow and its egg sack in his classroom once. He only recently got rid of it after the baby spiders exploded everywhere. The momma was contained in the jar, but some of the babies got loose in his classroom. We spent a good weekend seek-and-destroying the little buggers. Ever since that event, spiders don't bother me much, lol.

Post of the damn week
Holy shit, a 10 cm spider?! I'm so glad I don't live in Australia.
If something exists, there is going to be a bigger, nastier, and more poisonous version of it in Australia.
I don't mind spiders that are <5cm in width. You get over that size and fuck that I'm out of there

If I ever, ever fucking see a spider like that I will shit my pants and pass out INSTANTLY.
I'm crying for my mummy right now. If I ever, ever fucking see a spider like that I will shit my pants and pass out INSTANTLY.
Paradoxically, the bigger a spider gets, the less it creeps me out. Yet the biggest spider I've ever seen was the one that scared me the most. My brain is fucking weird about this shit. Though if I ever see a spider capable of eating a bird in my back yard I'd probably call the the cops or something.

Fuck that thing.
My sister has a job taking care of the insects and spiders in the Melbourne Museum. They have a breeding room for the Golden Orb Weavers which is basically just a concrete room with a few dozen of those big boys hanging from the ceiling. They're big but you can just walk through the room unharmed, they don't bother people. They're the most chilled out spider ever, even the ones as big as in that photo. I've let one crawl all over my arm. Don't misjudge the orb weaver, he's a chiller.
Stephen King viral marketing for his new book
I'm not scared of Red backs, Black widows, same spider, different markings. red backs are a little more aggressive. Fuckers are everywhere. It's these mnotherfuckers i'm scared of.
Why the fuck would you be scared of a Hunstman? IT IS LITERALLY HARMLESS. They don't bite people, they don't carry a venom that can hurt people, they're not aggressive, they eat mosquitoes and flies for you, they are the biggest spider bros around. How can you be Australian and fear this over a Red Back? Red Backs are the worst by far (maybe Funnelwebs).
I'm crying for my mummy right now. If I ever, ever fucking see a spider like that I will shit my pants and pass out INSTANTLY.
Pfft, tarantulas aren't even highly venomous. The only time you need to be concerned is if you're allergic to bee stings or if you're dealing with the more exotic species from India/Indonesia/There-'bouts. The "New-World" spiders (including the Goliath you see there) typically aren't aggressive at all, preferring to run from you (despite their size, you're still MUCH bigger than they are and that scares them shitless) than to risk injury in attacking you. The worst they might do is flick hair at you, which granted you DO NOT want to get that shit in your eyes/nose/mouth, but other than that they're pretty much completely harmless. [editline]16th December 2011[/editline]
In Finland the most poisonous spider is the Argyroneta aquatica and the bite is same as the sting of a bee. The biggest spider is this: Dolomedes fimbriatus [t]http://tnok.net/tn/img/galleria/bugs/rantahamppi.jpg[/t] Finland is such a safety place.
That's actually a pretty spider. :3

I've heard it hurts like a wasp sting. A very nasty wasp sting.
It'll still bite you if you try handling it roughly. I've heard it hurts like a wasp sting. A very nasty wasp sting.
Well duh, it hurts. You just had two 1/16-1/8" objects puncture your skin. A cat bite would be more physically damaging because those little shits just do not let go!
IRRIATIONAL fears motherfuckers goddamn it's like talking to a brick wall with a mustache
Read the post I quoted.
Hey, guys. Let's just HOLY FUCKING SHIT WE'RE SCARED OF THE BECAUSE OF HOW THE MOVE AND THE CLOSEUP PICTURES PEOPLE POST JESUS CHRIST
Show those Spiders who is the king, make love to them all and become the Spider overlord
Read the post I quoted.
Still relevant. If you have an irrational fear of spiders then you'll be afraid of spiders in an irrational manner. It's no use applying logic to it, just accept it and move on.
Oh god, if I was one of the dockworkers to discover the spiders, I'd have a heart attack. Black Widows are one of my biggest fears.
I read that it actually takes a good while to die from a black widow bite. It's really obvious when you are bitten and the people who generally get killed are those who ignore the symptoms and don't seek medical attention.
I hate black widows. . Brown recluse spiders are even worse though due the necrosis their bite causes. I see a lot of them + many other spiders where I live so they don't really bother me, I used to have a roseback tarantula, very pretty spider I would let him sit on my palm/shoulder they're extremely tame.

It was awesome.
/Sees people trying to calm people's "irrational" fears Not sure if spider sympathizers Or working with spiders to lure me into a false sense of security How dare you betray your own species!
