What in the fuck are you talking about
obviously he's trying to get someone to delete the 40GB they downloaded just to 'le troll'
Just so you know I didn't delete 40 gb of my downloaded game. Also will FX-8350 handle GTA V?

And I also believe that's one of the same CPUs listed in the recommended requirements.
For those with poor download speeds, swapping the region works great. As an american, I swapped from Atlanta to the Philippines, and GTA5 went from taking over 7 days to only 5~ hours.
Do I really want to pre-order and pre-load the game? TotalBiscuit has convinced me that pre-ordering is evil and has made me wait til every game came out. I really have no interest in buying if the game will run like shit on day one (ala GTA IV), the only reason I'm considering is because I have a poop connection and there is no disc based copies of the game. (If there were, I would buy it at work with Employee Discount)
I honestly think this will run and play well.

(If there were, I would buy it at work with Employee Discount)
I think GTA V on PC is an exclusion to the whole "pre-ordering is bad" notion because the game has been out for a couple of years and has been advertised and shown off to hell. If you haven't played it on consoles already, you can just look up "GTA V" on Youtube and see hundreds of thousands of videos concerning it and judge for yourself. As for the PC version being potentially shit, that obviously remains to be seen, but the evidence that we have so far points to the answer being "no" unless you're running on a PC from 2005. If that evidence is wrong, it's wrong, and we can all complain to Rockstar after the game releases. I personally have confidence in them though, because the same team behind Max Payne 3 is doing the PC version, and that game ran absolutely beautifully, especially compared to Rockstar's previous attempts. Besides that, it better run well given how much they've been trying to hype up the PC version over the last few months. And concerning TB, while I respect the man and his opinions, his opinions are not fact and are, most importantly, not your own or anyone else's. I mean, he still doesn't allow comments on his Youtube videos because he's still butthurt over Google+, yet pretty much everyone else on Youtube got over that a month or two after it happened. There's also various other opinions he has that I think are silly. Don't treat his opinions as what you absolutely should and shouldn't do, use them as a basis to form your own opinion.
I still don't get pre-ordering. What do you gain from it? I don't care how much I'd trust a company, I'd just buy a game on day-one release. No in-game reward can possibly be worth the risk of the game turning out awful. I really doubt GTA5 will turn out bad, but since I can't pre-load on my internet, there is really no incentive.
well the people that preordered before some certain date got a million dollars for gta online and an extra 200k. people that preordered before the march-to-april delay got some extra g's too.

Same would apply if the game was smaller in size. Seeing as the game is 60 GB in size, and we can pre-load it, I'd rather pre-order it and have the advantage of being able to essentially play the game on day one rather than buy it on day one, and then wait 2-3 more days before I can play it. And again, I already know how the game is. I've played the Xbox 360 version countless times at friend's and my brother's, and I loved it. I've just been waiting for the PC version before I dove in for myself, and I don't personally have a last gen/current gen console anyway.

Can we cull the download speed posters?
Exactly, despite what TB thinks, i still preordered and preloaded it, because i trust rockstar, and even if they flop with this launch, ill still trust them, they're a great company you dont have to let other people make decisions for you
I'm going to bite the bullet and do so. I appreciate what TB does for advocating ports of games. Being a minimum wage student, I want to be careful in what I spend and I end up playing more free to play games then I do my Steam library. It's more of awaiting others advice. I guess from how hard Rockstar has been advertising the PC version that I can trust a good port and not expect another GTA IV.
I'll be preloading tomorrow and posting regular download speed updates, subscribe to my mailing list or follow me on Twitter to get the latest news ASAP
Imagine being on 10 Gbps and being able to download a massive game in under a minute.
At some point before that another part of the computer will max out. I had a 100 Mbps connection for a while but overhead from Steam and the constant write speed of my HDDs meant I had to throttle Steam downloads to prevent my computer from freezing for a few seconds at a time.

I have the hardware to throw at it even if it's a god awful port, which it won't be. I know the game will be moddable and knowing how that changed 4 for me, this alone would be so great it's even worth dealing with a shoddy port. On top of that, though, I've already played countless hours on 360 and ps3 and a tiny bit on ps4 and I already know I love the game, so as soon as I had the opportunity, I put it in my steam account. Even before the preload, for me, just seeing the name there in my steam library, -finally-, was cool. Plus I found the steam version for like 40 bucks so I was like let's do this thing. I understand not wanting to preorder something and be disappointed, I'm right there with you. I just know that I won't be disappointed. Even if the pc version is GTA IV status, I'm still all in.
So part of me really wants to go ahead a bite. My system specs are my concern though. GTA IV ran fine. But I'd be happy with 30 fps with V. So long as it's stable. Specs are: Core i7 2630QM 2.7 GHz GTX 560M 8 GB RAM Will I be okay?
Posts like this should be bannable, considering that official system reqs exist
Posts like this should be bannable, considering that official system reqs exist
And official requirements are desktop based. I'm sorry I don't fully understand how my laptop scales to it. Calm down dude, its just a question.
The technical cert requirements for the 360 (So presumably the XB1, and I guess Sony have similar requirements) forbid having the same static screen for more than a couple of seconds.
A bit late, but the reason they have this requirement (as well as you can't have a solid, noiseless black screen for more than a second) is so people don't think the game has frozen.

This is a very exciting moment for me as I have never touched GTA 5 since it's original release (I vowed to play on PC only) and waiting almost 2 years for this. So despite millions of people have already played it on consoles, this still feels like a brand new game to me :)
"Ban people for asking questions"
I would certainly understand if it was something which required someone else's input. But you can google that in one fucking minute, even less, and compare.
