he's not going to call it a port, where did you get that idea from? For someone whose job relies on knowing this kind of information I guarantee you he isn't going to bitch about it being a port, if anything he's going to be praising Rockstar for doing an outstanding job compared to 4
Because his series is called PORT REPORT regardless if it`s one or not? Also relax, not being hostile here, just sharing my thoughts on the TB subject. And I hope so as well, if he doesn't I'll come back to you and nitpick about it :v: (just joking)
Can't wait till 12k gaming at 1550hz
but humans can't see past 144 hz!!!
but humans can't see past 144 hz!!!
its 24 you dumbass
no guise anything above 15 is unnecessary!!!
By current hardware they mean two 980s, a top of the line i7 CPU and 32GB of RAM so don't get too excited.
Yeah, it's nice to see that it's actually doable (was 16gb of RAM) but I want to see how practical it is for the guy who only has 8gb of RAM, an i5, and a lone 980 or even a 960/970. Would've been nice to see them test it on a few builds.
Games shouldn't be more than 20FPS. It ruins the cinematic experience. Besides, you can't see past 30FPS anyway.
Has a website actually tested it with reasonable hardware yet?
I should be able to, although I'm not sure if I'll get a review copy very soon, as I can't get it myself. Right now I am waiting for an answer.
Usually physical copies come with one disc that is essentially a physical steam key and a download headstart. So you'll still have to download like 60 gb.
So glad I'm wrong about this
Pulled the trigger on the GMG pre-order. Too good of a deal, and Steam was gonna make me go through RSC anyway. Kinda wish Rockstar got the hint after the GFWL debacle and just did away with it... Time to enjoy several days of my family bitching and moaning about their slow internet.
its 24 you dumbass
*woosh*
I was going to get up to go pee but Totalbiscuit hasn't told me to go pee yet so I'm gonna wait. But really, I'm probably going to wait for a sale. I've played it on PS3 and I'd love to play it through again on a better version, but I can't justify $70 for a graphical and control upgrade.
Anyone know when the game will actually be available to play? (Talking about timezones) Nevermind: Available: 13 April This game will unlock in approximately 2 days and 20 hours
For those worried about performance, Rockstar says you should be able to run the game at 1080p 60 FPS at the recommended settings listed. They also stated that you can run the game at 4k 30 FPS if you upgrade that GTX 660 to a 760. If the game takes essentially mid-range hardware to run smoothly at highest settings at the most common PC gaming resolution, it's a pretty good version or "port" in my eyes. And honestly, just the fact that they're showing this much confidence in the PC version has me believing their claims aren't bullshit. Sauce I'm sure GTA Online will probably have some issues on day one, but I imagine the core game having very little issues.
wait, it comes out on the 13th now?
I'm so glad my mate gave me the files he downloaded because I really don't want to use up 65GB.
wait, it comes out on the 13th now?
4pm PST on the 13th
I'm so glad my mate gave me the files he downloaded because I really don't want to use up 65GB.
We have it on steam cache at our lan, otherwise the download contents for Rockstar Workshop are shared over p2p
We have it on steam cache at our lan, otherwise the download contents for Rockstar Workshop are shared over p2p
I've no idea what this means but I feel it may be negative.
I've no idea what this means but I feel it may be negative.
Imagine steam downloads at GB/s As long as someone has downloaded it while connected to cache, everyone else on the network will download it within seconds
Oh, neat.
Playing some GTAIV to say goodbye
Playing some GTAIV to say goodbye
Eyy smurfy let's go bowling
Who the fuck is using 512k in 2015?
Living in a rural area with satellite internet 512kbs.. in Canada on a 100gb monthly cap. I won't be getting gta V anytime soon, by digital download... Oh and did I mention it costs 100$/m for this shit?
Wish I'd been told when GTAIV came out that 7 years later I'd upgrade my PC with the latest i7 and 16GB of RAM and still not be able to max it out
Wish I'd been told when GTAIV came out that 7 years later I'd upgrade my PC with the latest i7 and 16GB of RAM and still not be able to max it out
Enable the steam overlay, and if you have more than 2GB VRAM, limit the available video mem to 2GB. Because I run GTA IV and EFLC at 4k max everything with an i5, 8GB ram, and a GTX 970. Before I did the above two things though, it ran like crap, even at 1080p. I don't know what it is about the steam overlay but it completely fixes the stuttering issue.

Just tried those two things and they didn't make much difference on my PC Are you talking about even the density/detail sliders maxed? Those are what really seems to kill it for me
Yeah I run all the sliders and settings to max. At 4k it hovers around 40fps. Well that sucks it didn't change anything for you. For me it made an enormous difference because the game after a few minutes of play would start to stutter, like it would drop to really low fps but in short bursts.
Ah well, GTAIV was complicated. It lagged for people. Stuttered for people. Crashed for people. Perhaps here, things will be different.
GTA IV is still one of the worst games performance-wise I have ever played on my computer even fully patched. It's a miracle that it's possible to make a port that terrible [editline]11th April 2015[/editline] And it didn't even look good visually like god damn
It looks good at times. With the right mods, it can look great at times. But at times it looks dreadful and washed out and cartoony but in a poorly animated kinda way. It's a very blurry game. However a new day is soon upon us, as rockstar support has tweeted that we'll actually get the game a little earlier than I thought: https://twitter.com/RockstarSupport/status/586548154918645761
GTAV for PC will go live on April 14 at 12:00 AM BST (In the US, this is Monday, April 13, at 7:00 PM ET, 4:00 PM PT).
So I'll get to play it on my day off. Fucking great news.
