I ended up having someone else who bought it in the house with a better wireless card than me download it and then transfer the preload files to me via direct ethernet connection after I bought the game :v: Took 20 minutes
But man I can't wait, I'm so pumped. I'm not even that into GTA and I am excited.
Hahaha the preload downloader eats 25% of my CPU when the window is open, and it drops to almost zero when I minimize it.
Rockstar's programmers are garbage. Starting to wish I just spent the extra money and bought it on Steam.

It's using some weird render, It's not a normal executable since the steam overlay works on it.
At least the performance drops when minimised, so when comes time to login before relesase, it's a good idea to keep it minimised
I still find it funny and awesome that, to this day, I haven't had the story of GTA V spoiled for me.
Granted, I've heard the story is apparently kind of mediocre, but still. I'm going to dive into the SP part of the game for a bit first before I get into GTA Online.
Besides that, I'm expecting that GTA Online will probably have issues at first anyway.
I hope the day one patch isn't too big, I'm already over my data.

I think someone said 50mb

58 mb i think
58 mb i think
Oh fucking good. I was honestly expecting it to be bigger.
Been looking around and it seems like a lot of people's preloads are fucked with duplicates and lost data and other problems. I think I'm gonna get the game files from somewhere else because it looks like Rockstar can't do digital distribution properly on the largest game download in history. :rolleye:
Who's getting a physical copy?
Me.
Internet too slow to download it reliably, plus I want the box.
I just started preloading it about an hour ago, should be done in another 2 hours assuming I don't try and watch a bunch of youtube videos. I'm pretty excited to finally play the game in first person. I've already beat it 3 or 4 times on PS3
58 mb i think
That's great news. I had expected the d1 patch to be 6GB since the steam version is light 6GB of the 65 GB number that was being tossed around.
I wonder if I can install it on multiple computers. One at one house, one at the other (Both Steam).
Since some games have no cloud saving (Online would be fine in that scenario, Story wouldn't) and some give you the good ol' one computer per purchase.

Ever since I had to revalidate watch dogs 20 times with ubisoft's shitty download software to get it working, I just get games on Steam or that have Steam keys.

I really wished I waited until steam summer sale, I just hate waiting.

I just woke up and already, today's going awfully slow.
the endings are kinda big spoilers tho
story isn't anything to write home about, the housers are good at writing dialog but not actually making it into a compelling story
the endings are predictable as anything

Ending Spoilers
Considering Devin and Steve tell [sp]Franklin to go kill Trevor and Michael, or go on a suicide mission trying to take him and all the antagonists down it's not very surprising. Betrayal endings are short and very lackluster, Deathwish ending is perfect IMO.[/sp]
So here in the UK I forced myself to go back to bed at 11.30. It's now 15:40, so I've essentially skipped a good few hours!
I'm definitely doing the allnighter.
