Too bad I already pre-ordered it from Gamestop, eh. It'd take 30 hours to download and I didn't expect the preload to be over a week in advance.

My college campus throttles dorm Internet to 5Mbps... but I have a hack that gives me 100Mbps downloads :v:

Besides some places in Australia? No one.
Here's how long it will take to download the 65 GB:

Everyone around me's going "AW FUCK THIS IS GOING TO TAKE FOREVER"
And then with my internet I'm just like "oh cool it's only gonna be a few hours"
50 minutes to download, I'm happy.
Wow, 65GB. That basically clears up half the space available on any given drive in my PC on average.
I should really nuke the old Windows install on my games drive. But ehhhh.
Yay! With this, I might be able to pre-load at least half of the game before release! <3
Sooo no chance of a physical copy I assume?
There might be a physical copy, just expected it to come with A LOT of discs.
Surely this means that its gone gold (or is about to)? No more delays!
Also there is a physical copy, I pre ordered it from Amazon months.
Who the fuck is using 512k in 2015?
I was stuck with it til last July
I'm still not buying it until reviewers tell me it's not a shit port.

If you're downloading at 10GBits though, you would have to probably relinquish control of your PC for that minute or 5, your read/write speeds would be peaking.
But fuck me I would do that if I had 10GBit internet speeds fucking flowing through my house.
I'm still not buying it until reviewers tell me it's not a shit port.
For the millionth time, it's not a port. The PC version was developed on a separate branch and was handled by the same studio who took care of MP3 on PC.

The studio that did the MP 3 port merged with the studio that made the GTAIV port. The port quality for GTAV could be a coin toss.

You do realize that GTA IV was a console port and not its own thing like GTA 5/MP3, right? The main reason GTA IV ran so poorly is because of the lack of proper multithreading support. GTA V for PC was mostly coded from scratch to squeeze out every single bit of performance from your hardware, not to mention it also supports Vulkan, which is a pretty fucking big deal for low-end AMD users.
Just because a studio merged with another doesn't mean the 35 people who worked on MP3 for PC forgot how to do their thing.

I use my laptop in class so I drop it down where there's already a computer and plug in the ethernet cable from the desktop. I'll download my stuff around 90Mbps while doing my work and then when I get home I'll back it up and transfer it over to my desktop to actually play. I have 1.5Mbps DSL at home :v:
I bought it on GMG, hopefully they have preloading

You would also need CAT6 networking equipment and a 10gig nic since most home network equipment can only do 1gbi or get wireless AC which is 7Gbit.
Might not be a bad idea to get a jump on that since Star Citizen is gonna be double and future games can only go higher
45 minutes that is, gg. (240 Mbps)
Gotta free up my best HDD though (WD Black), right now it's full of porn, had this problem happen before, was very hyped for Payday 2 update, when it came out I rushed to download it just to find that steam is saying: "insufficient disk space".
Gotta be ready this time :v:
I told people before on fp: If you have to wait for weeks to download, just arrange with somebody from your country to send them a flash drive or some shit, and get them to just copy files over.

Yeah, Max Payne 3 ran amazing even on my hardware and the specs for GTA V seem to be fairly low so I would assume the optimization is insane on this one. I highly doubt they'll fuck it up anywhere near GTA IV or Watchdogs.

Imagine thinking everyone lives in an area with quality internet services.
I bought it on GMG, hopefully they have preloading
GMG support says that when they get the keys, they will issue them out for preload.

Please tell me about this hack, supposed to be getting 60 megabits/s download speeds, lucky if I get 20.

I could stay here with my girlfriend and download it in 141 hours... or I say "Bye honey, gotta download GTA V", take the train to my parents and download it in only 4 hours.
Hmmm...

Only 2 and a half hours for me to download it, gotta love fibre broadband.
