If there is a risk of complications after the surgery, what's the point? Why not just take the safer route of teaching your son good hygiene standards and safe sex practices? I find it abhorrent that this procedure is allowed on unconsenting minors and even worse that it is commonplace in a first world country.
Cut people say reduced sensitivity is bullshit. Including me. And complications rarely happen. Those are not downsides of circumcision, they are possible downsides.

It is not only STDs
Complications rarely happen
Once again you're arguing based on opinion with no factual basis, you -say- reduced sensitivity is bullshit but how do you know that's not a personal thing, or denial? Besides, the upside listed of a slight decrease in the risk for cancer is a possible upside too, just like a chance of complication is a possible downside. You're arguing nothing.
Even if there was no downsides anyway and it was purely cosmetic, it would still be unethical. What if making a permanent ass shaped scar on your forehead carried slight health benefits, would that make it ethical to force it on someone when they can't consent? I'm not seeing any argument on your side other than "it doesn't matter and you shouldn't care", but it does matter and people do care. That's not your call to make
